Colby Chaps’ appointed Vice Mayor of

November 18th, 2006 - 10:10 am KY Time
The apple doesn't fall far from the tree!

This is Colby Chaps. He is Chaps’ son and lives in TX. He will be the vice mayor of Colby is 4 years old. His Mom told me that he recently got to friendly with a skunk. She has a mixture she likes for odor removal. It is

1qt. peroxide, 1/4 cup baking soda, 1tsp dishwashing liquid. (I would use dawn). Be very careful around the face, almost to the point of putting up with the smell if hound was sprayed in the face. Do not get near the eyes.
Give two baths the first day, and according to his Mom, the smell was mostly gone.

By the way, Colby is currently not allow to go “hunting” in the back yard after 10:00pm! More from the Vice Mayor, later…..

Diamond Chili and Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

November 17th, 2006 - 1:01 am KY Time

Hello dear hound lovers. Here is my Diamond Chili recipe for your weekend pleasure. This is for the humans and not the hounds! As you can see Lily and Chloe are the diamond hounds!

Check out the Blog for a weekend Chili Recipe!

2 pounds of the best ground beef you can find
1 chopped onion

1-3 jalaepenos – to your taste

6 oz can tomato paste

10.5 oz can tomato soup

15 oz can diced tomatoes

Two 15 oz cans of chili hot beans (most super markets carry this)

12-15 oz applesause (secret ingredient)

1 oz package hot chili seasoning mix, look in the sauce section of your store.
Crushed garlic to taste – careful!

Brown the beef along with the onion and jalapenos. Drain greese.

Slow cook then add tomato paste, tomato soup, diced tomatoe, the beans, apple sauce, chili seasonings, and garlic. Stir it up

Let it simmer for the better part of the day or until you cannot stand it anymore! When that happens, Get out the TX toast, butter, add your choice of cheese. Make sure the pan is hot. You want a sear on the bread. My favorite cheese is sharp chedder.
Slice the grilled cheese sandwich in a fashion that is good for dipping. Sit back and listen to your company say Yummmmmmmmmmm. Or just enjoy on your own.

Have a great weekend! Love Cat, Chaps, and Emma….More Later

A portion of the sales from the Lily book will be donated to the CAC. The CAC helps local artists sell their stuff in an event called Good Design for the Holidays. Also attending is a very well known and respected artist, Beverly Erschell. She will be showing her watercolors and greeting cards. She did a watercolor for me of Lily and Chloe which is my favorite piece in my home.
