Mommy, reporting live from the kitchen, was able to grab the camera which was deep in a stack of paperwork! I am so proud! Good Girl Emmers!

She was able to get a few crumbs. Life is good!

More later, love Emma, seeing with her heart and her nose….Cat and Chaps Rudert, kitchen correspondents.

March came in like a lamb, goes out like a…..

March 31st, 2008 - 6:06 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow hound and lamb lovers: Well, March came in like a lamb to bassethoundtown, and today, well….I guess it is pretty lamb like. It is in the upper 5os with misty rain. That kind of puts a damper on the Cincinnati Reds Opening Day. The city pretty much shuts down for the big event. The streets are closed and there is a big parade. Chaps is a bit miffed that he was not asked to be Grand Marshall, but maybe next year. Plus he will have some experience on his resume.

Also, Enzo the pug goes home today. He is so excited. He misses his family sooooo much.

3958One last item of interest, Emma has started to initiate some play with Chaps. Very short lived, but it’s a start! Our girl has the heart of a lion! Roar!

3-29-08 and the gold pours in!

March 29th, 2008 - 6:06 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and striking gold lovers:

Look what just poured into our P.O.Box today! It is the biggest haul yet. Thanks go out to Kelly, Blixen and Marley! We are pie eyed with the generous donation! IMG_4142.JPG

Folks, I cannot wait to see what this is worth! I will be reporting that total shortly.

This is sooooo much fun!
Today I went to Ft. Thomas Jewelry Store and turned in the last items I blogged about and received a check for: 101.40!!! I kissed the check and danced out the door!

IMG_4144.JPG

For everyone’s information, I am putting all of the gold pictures and amounts I get for it on my home page, right under the talking Chaps.

THIS IS THE LINK – BOOK MARK IT IF YOU WANT!

This is a dedicated page for the Gold Rush. As many of you know, blogs move fast and postings drop away quick.

The amount listed above is for the gold received from Audra, Marilyn (HOP), Linda and Brandon!

Brandon is my friend and son of Lisa, my friend and graphic designer. He is one sweet boy! Look what he donated! He also donated an ID bracelet that turned out not to be gold, but if it would have been, it most likely would have brought in the largest amount yet. This just shows where his heart is. I love you Brandon.

Thanks Brandon. You rock our world and Chaps and Emma love you really hard. Emma cannot thank you enough for cheering up her days with your visits.

Oakley was loved by his Mommy so much…..

March 28th, 2008 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers:

Tawny is a friend of mine who lost her sweet basset hound Oakley recently. Tawny was one of the first people, if not the first person, to read my blog. We had so much fun following each other’s hounds.

Tawny, it is a true honor to have you as a friend. Your YouTube video of Oakley is wonderful. I know the love you had for him and still do, remains powerful.

It is with much love that we honor Oakley’s memory. We ache for your loss dear friend. He was much too young.

Chaps Rudert to be Grand Marshall in upcoming Parade!

March 28th, 2008 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Parade Lovers:

Wow! bassethoundtown.com has been bestowed two honors in two days!

Chaps has been asked by the Stray Animal Adoption Programs of Newport, Kentucky to be the Grand Marshall in their upcoming parade and Pet Fair, 4-26-08.
Chaps will lead the parade and then help his Mommy, aka, me, judge the costume contest. Chaps and I will be 2 of the 4 judges at the table. We are so excited and honored to attend.

Several months ago we donated some Lily books to their organization. I have just learned, that they have saved them for this event so I can sign them that day.

They did the right thing, because this is MY THING! I hope they have a bull horn!

Their website does not have any details yet, but I am posting this now because I know they are inviting any pet rescue to attend and get a booth for free!

If you are in the Northern KY – Cincinnati OH area and want to have a 501(c)3 booth for free, contact me: cat@bassethoundtown.com

I will get you all the early information you need. The event is in it’s 4th year and this year the PT Cruiser Club is joining in! The event is held in Dayton, KY and is 5 minutes from Cincinnati, OH.

The Mayor is begging you to come and buy a Lily book!
100% of all sales will go to SAAP.
Hometown organizations have their privileges! LOL!

Much more later on this event…..Cat, The Grand Marshall Chaps, and Emma

Gold Rush Trading Post Opens for Business!

March 26th, 2008 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Gold Rush Lovers! For those of you that are new readers, Devon and I have a Firstgiving Page!

Please click on our FG link and send us gold! This is such a cool and fun way to help the House of Puddles. The vet bills are exorbitant, reaching over 10,000 dollars in just 3 months this year.

I have noticed another increase in my Blog’s readership. Over 1000 people a day are checking in. Welcome to each and every one of you. I am overwhelmed and thrilled that you come to bassethoundtown.com for your daily fix!

Today we struck a major vein of gold. Three packages arrived at the
Gold Rush Trading Post, (my PO Box) and we are so excited and busy. We photograph every haul and document precisely what our jewler gives us. Then we send 100% of that amount to HOUSE OF PUDDLES!

IMG_4099.JPG

Speaking of the HOP, this was the package we received from Marilyn herself! She is the Mom of the HopPers. This is just fantastic. I will be updating the Gold Rush Trading Post with what this is worth. The little ring has small diamonds in it. The pearl earring is so pretty and has a shade of pink to it. The other gold earring is a nice size as you can see!

Most of us have items we can give as you will see from the other two packages I received today.

This one came from Audra, Mom of Colby Chaps, Chaps’ only son! Audra, I love these items. As a matter of fact, if my jewler thinks I can sell the gold knot earrings for more money, I will do that. I will put them in the HOP boutique on my website.

Audra, thank you sooooooo much. You have some cool GOLD and a totally pawsome stone!

IMG_4105.JPG

IMG_4107.JPG

IMG_4110.JPG

IMG_4111.JPG

You can send all of your items and trust me. I will make sure everything is documented and showcased for the world to see. I think that this is a super way to give to a cause! Gold is at an all time high and many of us have items that have laid around for years!

How pretty are these items? I am just so jazzed.

Then, Ms. Linda Ferrell arrives at the Gold Rush Trading post and the beauty continues. Linda, you also have a item that might be able to be placed in the HOP Boutique. Those beautiful gold link earrings.

Believe me folks, I will research this and make sure these items go into the correct catagory for maximum return. I cherish your hard work in sending these items to me. I will make sure we get top dollar for the HOP.

IMG_4112.JPG

I will update everyone on my progress and I want to remind you, if your donation is over 25.00 Devon and I are offering a free gift!
Go to our
FirstGiving Page
and read all about it.

I am working on putting the Gold Rush Trading Post on my Home page with Devon and mine’s Firstgiving page. This will make it easier for all of you miners out there in cyber space to keep track of us.

As soon as I learn what all of this is all worth, I will be updating the Official Gold Rush Trading Post link.

I keep referring to My JEWELER. Here is the link to their store.

FT. THOMAS JEWELERS

I love my hometown jeweler, thanks for helping!

Chaps and Emma have a friend over for Spring Break!

March 26th, 2008 - 3:03 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound Lovers: There is an interloper in bassethoundtown. It’s Enzo the pug! Enzo belongs to my sister Caryn, her husband Art, and my nephew Julian. They left today for Spring Break – San Diego. My BIL, the orthopaedic surgeon, is attending a new, cutting edge, surgery seminar. Pun intended!
Then it is off to Lego Land!

Enzo.jpg

Enzo, kind of hates it over here in the very beginning. He really misses his family and Chaps can be kind of a grumpy at times. Emma loves company so that helps him.

Welcome Enzo, nice to have you. Who needs Lego Land when you have Emma Land? LOL
