I loved this picture and the sentiments behind what you wrote. Perfect.

Sometimes when I am out walking the woofs I glance at their smiling faces (yes, bassets smile!) and it takes my breath away. I want to hold on to that moment, that perfection of us being together and never let it slip away.

I don't have my own children and the woofs are the closest I get to feeling paternal. I would give anything to keep us all together, pottering through the forest, the dew on our feet, knowing that coffee (me) and biscuits (the woofs) await our return.

Cat,

How do you cope or get over the loss of such wonderful companions?

You never stop missing those you love. We have 6 hounds ATB 1 labxhusky and many other 4 legged critters we have loved on our farm. But when you come across a photo it warms the heart and I think its those in the photo who show you where to look.
