I shouldn't have fostered either but I did. I put Jethro through heck that's for sure. Poor guy. Everybody that we fostered took away a souvenir from Jethro. He tore open Harriet's ear pretty darn good one time. I didn't take her to the vet since it would have been expensive to sew her up and she was a rescue. Instead I put her in the tub twice a day and cleaned her ear and packed it with antibiotic cream. It looked really gross for a few weeks but I kept cleaning it twice a day since I couldn't bandage it and it would get really dirty with hair and scab and dirt. Eventually it healed up nicely and I have to show people the scar. Harriet was scared to death of humans when we first got her and taking care of her ear brought her and I very close. She's not scared of people anymore finally. Thank goodness! Buster is a very lucky boy that he had Basset Hound Town cheering for him a new home. I can sure understand how you feel Cat.
