Bassethoundtown Chaps does not see his shadow!

February 2nd, 2010 - 2:02 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Chaps not seeing his shadow lovers! Chaps is very diligent about his efforts to report the weather. He has been carefully working this prediction for 3 years and he has been correct every year so this year should be no different.

Here he is early this morning coming out of his man cave.

Then he went to work looking for his shadow!

No shadow here. Let me look over there…

IMG_5347

No, no shadow. Emma was no help because she can’t see.

I better go out back and double check just to make sure…..

IMG_5351

OH NO! The sun came out. I still don’t see my shadow.

As hard as I try! No shadow!

So, as your Mayor and Basset Hound Town weather man, I hear by proclaim….

An early spring is in store for the residents of basset hound town! YES!

More proclaiming later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Yeah! I trust Chaps over that crazy glorified squirel in PA any day. I’m packing away my sweaters right now.

    Thanks, Chaps!

Oh Chaps you are such a Handsome Hunk. I love the way you stand in your man cave. Plus the bonus of Early Spring makes you the best.

Mayor Chaps, you are so wide-ranging in your interests and experiences. And being a weatherman too. You do it all without that high tech radar. I am always impressed by your accomplishments. I’m glad spring is on the way, although I have to admit, Texas really doesn’t have too much winter anyway.

keansburg ken..our local groundhog didn’t see his shadow because he was umm swallowed up by cooper & his shadow so our weather will be good too.

groundhogs..they taste like chicken…the other white meat!

    coop loves groundhogs.

Mr. Mayor/Weatherman – thank you for your most excellent and hopeful forecasting. We here in the great north are so relieved to hear your forecast. You must be correct, because even with all of our snow and cold, we actually have some crocus starting to stick their noses out of the ground! Surely they heard your forecast and decided to do their part.

Oh, and as others have said, you look very handsome and distinguished in the door of your man-cave.

Mr. Mayor I have complete faith in your prediction, and I am counting on an early spring. I miss color at this time of year. I long for a blue sky and green grass.

Chaps, I did go look at your Mommy’s blog and Trooper has the potential of being such a beautiful hound, just as you and Emma are. I donated a little to his beauty treatments. Thanks, Mr Mayor, for keeping us informed of opportunities to help where we can. You are my favorite Mayor!!! Also, I received the box from you, Emma, and your Mommy today. The cards are extraordinarily GORGEOUS! The gold pen is an absolute show-stopper, especially with the rhinestones on the tail. The pics on your Mommy’s website does NOT do this beautiful piece of jewelry justice. My bassets, Howler and Buster loved the “scented” toys. Thanks for all you, Emma, and your Mommy do. You are all wonderful and we love you. Happy early Valentines Day to you, Mr. Mayor.

Thanks Sheila for the update! I am so happy you and the boys loved your stuff! I hope the PJs fit! We love hearing from our residents! Thanks again Sheila. Give the boys a kiss from us!

    Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

[...] While that pesky groundhog saw his shadow and threatened us with six more weeks of winter, we here at OneMom are going with the forecast from the Mayor of Basset Hound Town. [...]
