Stewie and Mikey are pawsomely cool!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Stewie and Mikey Lovers. Well, today we left basset hound town and traveled to Dayton to collect some of our homeless residents, Stewie and Mikey. They were in the Montgomery Animal Resource Center and it is very nice.

First things first, I paid their debts so they could be sprung from prison.

2 boys vetting, neutered, micro chipped, and boarded for over a month….150.00. Priceless

Heather is the gal who worked relentlessly to get these blue eyed boys out of there! Thank you Heather!

Now we are off to collect our Stewie!

IMG_8814

OMD, I about lost it. As soon as we came to Stewie he did this to show us his neuter surgery scar. It was like he was saying, “They hurted me!” I actually heard my Mom gasp at his beauty!

Then it was off to collect our Mikey….

IMG_8817

Man O Man was he itching to get out of his pen. Another handsome blue eyed boy! I felt like we had just discovered hidden secret treasures…..

Then, get this…..I was interviewed by Channel 2 in Dayton, OH. Last night when I was talking with Gary Penny of ABC – All Bassets Cherished – he suggested that I contact them so they could report a happy ending to this story. I jumped all over his suggestion and e-mailed the original reporter. They were on the phone with us off an on the entire drive up to Dayton making sure they knew when to show up.

Grandma was a bit nervous hence the blurring…..

Then we moved outside!

The ride home was perfect. Stewie and Mikey are perfect gentle hounds. My next blog posting, later today will be some fantastic picture I capture of utter and true joy to be out of the pound. These boys are going to be the perfect addition to some one’s family.

Please check back later today. I have to go to bed. I can barely keep my eyes open. I just got home from the transport rendezvous and I will have more about that as well.

More pawsomely cool stories later……Love, Cat (Yawn), Chaps and Emma

HOWL COOL! Basset Hound Town on the news!!! You looked great Cat! How very exciting. Poor Grandma. I was wondering why the pics were so blurry. Tell Grandma she did great. I would have been nervous too!

I cannot believe that it only cost $150 for all the vetting! And I’ve never seen such a clean and updated facility. They were definitely well taken care of. What a happy ending.

OK, now we need to know what our balance is so we can help to get you reimbursed for this.

Thanks guys for the comments. Cindy it is amazing that for 150 you can save 2 souls. The labor is massive but so worth it. The stress is overwhelming but with the help of the residents we push through. I think, with the 20 dollars I have yet to update our Tally with we have 85 bucks! I have no fear that we will cover the balance and I am more than in a position to carry it for howl ever long. I would love to start selling some stuff for the fund. Kind of like I did for Trooper.

BJ Chaps is about 95% but by tonight all will be forgiven. Grandma and I are going to try and sneak out later for a Margarita! hehehehe

She has not seen the pictures or video yet so it should be fun.

I could get used to that media coverage. That was so much fun!

I am going to send a few Lily books to the station and to the Animal Resource Center.

Oh, and one more thing….I am going to buy a lottery ticket today. It is up to 80 million. That means about 40 million after taxes…

Wonder what we could do with that kind of doe? Hummmmm?????

    LOL

$85 bucks toward the $150 meaning we need to collect $65 more? If so, cool! Maybe we can somehow get a little more under our belt to help the next hound too.

I don’t know how far you had to drive to that shelter but I wonder if they’d be willing to vet other rescues in the future for us? Wouldn’t that be cool? Or, just win the lotto and we’ll be set! Ha! Good luck with that!

OMGosh……Cat! What a bumpy ride! I’m so glad you got the news coverage too!!!!! You were beautiful!!!!! I’m so excited you were on the news!!! BUT!!!!!!!! That Davis needs to be charged!!!!!!! I’m sorry, I don’t want to hear any of her excuses — there are none. I hate to have such a strong opinion about it, but I guarantee you if you look in her house she probably has many items that cost more than what it would of taken to pay to have them surrendered. NO EXCUSES — CHARGE HER!!!! Anyways, off my soap box and THANK YOU — THANK YOU for rescuing these two beauties!!!!!Please keep us posted. They are so beautiful!!!! Love you and what you do for all these bassets.

I agree Audra. She is a dirt bag. These hounds were her back yard breeders and tax free money. I don’t believe a word out of her mouth. OH basset hound rescue tried to work with her and she totally was useless.

I hate being in the same clip with that lying oitch.

She obviously has a lap top and could have networked her own hounds. I am glad she was too stupid to do that and all of the hounds got out.

These beautiful hounds were eons above her in dignity, not to mention grace.

    She makes me sick.

I hope they throw the book at her.

I tasted vomit in my mouth when she said, they are just like my kids….

I feel sorry for her kids also.

Waste of space if you ask me.

What beautiful boys–Cat-I just made a paypal donation for our fund. Let me know that you received it–when you have a chance.

Hi Candy! Thank you so much!

GO STEWIE, GO MIKEY, GO STEWIE, GO MIKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Candy you are the best. I cannot thank you enough. This is precious doe that enables us to do what we do for these needy homeless residents.

You are welcome for the butt shot! Did you see that skinny empty purse? That is what Grandma and I call it. Stewie had one too, but we did not capture it.

You really are the best and we love you for loving the homeless BHT residents……..
