February 2nd, 2013 - 8:08 pm KY Time
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Prognostication Lovers…As we all well know, one of the duties of Mayor in bassethoundtown is to prognosticate…
Today was a very important day and the verdict is in!
Spring will come early….(who needs ground hogs?)
Mayor Daisy Lynn is very young but took her job pretty seriously!
Hum…no shadow…
She kept looking….
Maybe over here….
Nope! No shadow to be found.
There will be an early Spring in bassethoundtown!
A job well done!
As a matter of fact, this was her first job!
More prognostications later…Love Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB) very proud of the baby Mayor…

Good job!! we will all be happy to see spring soon! We have had a lot of lake effect here.
i hope she got some good treats for all that looking! a great job indeed!
THANK GOODNESS!!!!! I HATE THE COLD!!!!!
Thank you VERY much Miss Mayor!!!
Job well done! Daisy Lynn is very thorough in her work, for sure.
Thank you Daisy – that was a much more thorough forecast than that old groundhog. We sure could use an early spring here in the UP of Michigan. Nell & Sophie couldn’t see their shadows because when they stepped off the last step they sank into snow deeper than they are! They are really ready for spring.
the UP has spring? really..oh wait it’s that mud season between snow & black flies..my bad!
sorry had to go for it! honestly a great dane would have the same issues!!!!
saying YA for UP for you! (love the UP & the mitten too)
So glad Daisy declares an early spring! She is sooooo cute! Love the photo of her looking out the fence. Love all the photos!!!! She is so photogenic!
Funny Lois
we have spring in June; summer in July; autumn in August and the rest is winter.
this is our 4th winter in the UP and we’ve had more snow this year than the other 3 years combined. it has also been bitterly cold …. 15 below this morning.
daisy did a marvelous job at her first official duty as mayor of bassethound town. you go girl
I am not surprised by her hard work, thoroughness and accuracy.
