Cat’s Movie Pic for Saturday Night!

May 22nd, 2010 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Needing a Good Movie Lovers! I have a romance classic for the residents tonight!

It is called SUMMERTIME! With Katherine Hepburn! Have you seen it? I had, about 20 years ago. It was playing on Tuner Classic Movies and I taped it and watched it last night. The intro with Robert Osborn stated, “After you watch this movie you will want to drive to the airport and fly away to Venice”! Boy oh boy was he right! They sure don’t make movies like this anymore.

I could not find a trailer but I did find this clip.

It was pure joy to watch this movie during a low rumbling thunderstorm with the Mayor not going crazy.

This is not an actual picture, but kind of howl we enjoyed the feature presentation together. Just look at my leading man! LOL!

IMG_3818

I had my arm around him for most of the movie. There was some very soothing music in the movie so maybe that helped, not to mention the storm pill the Mayor had to take!

Robert Osborne was right! I wanted to go right to Venice! That is if I had a private jet so Chaps and Emma could go too! Wonder if we won the lottery tonight?

More movie pics later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

April 17th, 2010 - 6:06 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Cat’s Movie Pick Lovers! Every now and then I pick a movie for our town to watch based upon howl much I enjoy it. This movie is called,

SLIDING DOORS

I have to tell you, I am not a Gwyneth Paltrow fan but this movie has me holding out hope. Released back in 1998 it is rated R. Just so you know. The stuff that makes a movie an R is not a big part of this movie. I can actually say I love this movie!

4 paws up to the writer Peter Howitt

Have you seen it? What did you think?

11-20-09 Cat’s Friday Night Movie Pick!

November 20th, 2009 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and curling up on the couch with basset hound lovers: Tonight’s movie pick is one of my all time favorite flicks. I know, I say that about all of the movies I pick, but this one…..can’t be beat.

suzie-wong-

The World of Suzie Wong. I know I have seen it about 5 times but I am going to watch it again tonight.

UPDATE – YOU TUBE REMOVED THE VIDEO! SO SAD. I DON’T KNOW WHY THEY DO THAT. WHO IS BUYING THIS MOVIE? WHO HAS EVEN EVER HEARD OF IT? JERKS!

In the first installment you seen that ferry boat heading for Hong Kong. I was on that same boat back in 1993. I went to Hong Kong with Grandma and Grandpa. It looked exactly like that. Back then I was taking slides so I have a zillion slides, just no pictures. I have to find a way to convert them. They are so good.

Let me know if you like it.

More Hong Kong memories later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Cat’s Movie Pick for Saturday Night!

November 7th, 2009 - 6:06 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Valley of the Dolls Lovers! Beware, this is a somewhat racy film, especially for it’s time! This is a 1967 American drama film based on the novel of the same name by Jacquelin Susann.

valley_of_the_dolls

I am such a fan of movies of this time period. Patty Duke knocks it out of the park. The music is fantastic. To date the film has earned $44,432,255 at the box office and $20,000,000 in rentals.

Want to indulge yourself in a camp classic? Then this flick is for you.

Put it on your list dear doll…….

LOL!

More picks later, Cat, Chaps and Emma who are laying on the couch.

Pop corn, not dolls!

Cat’s Movie Pick of the Night…..

October 16th, 2009 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Movie Pick of the Night lovers! It’s time to grab that hound and settle in for a good movie. I know my picks are something you have to find in advance so, you may not be watching this movie tonight, be we are! Make a note and a plan to see this flick soon.

Corrina, Corrina:

D16219

Set in the early 1960s, this sensitive comedy-drama stars Whoopi Goldberg as a feisty housekeeper-nanny hired by a widowed ad jingle writer (Ray Liotta) to care for his 7-year-old daughter (Tina Majorino), who has been unable to speak since her mother’s death. Goldberg uses her magical personality to help the young girl speak again and draw Liotta out of his sadness. 115 min

Looks like you have to click on the video to see it on YouTube. That’s OK – The preview is about 8 minutes long.

115 minutes of total bliss. I love a good movie. Grab your tissues, a hound or 2 and get ready to cry and laugh….

Brilliant..

This is a movie I just LOVE. I hope you enjoy it as well. There are so many layers to this flick.

Two of my favorite musical artists define this movie. Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach.

Oh, you have to rent it. Do yourself a favor!

Burt Bacharach is a genus.
