Happy Veterans Day!
Howllo fellow basset hound and veteran lovers…..We are sure one of those because Grandpa is a Vet! He enlisted on March 17, 1944. He was called an Apprentice Seaman, V5 Aviation Cadet, United States Naval Reserve. I have his identification card. OMG! The poor thing only weighed 150 pounds!!!!
Very dapper indeed! Thanks Grandpa and all of the others who are celebrating this day.
Right after I did this blog posting, I received an e-mail from Julian. He wrote something in school today called…..
To a Veteran
To a Veteran,
You are the core of American spirit. You are the very meaning of our freedom and protection. Without you, this country would be wiped out of history and into denial. Your occupation is the most difficult to achieve of any in the history of our world. But you still chose to fight. Because of this, may you find serenity in your friends, family, and the very country you are giving your life to protect.
Julian……….
More freedom memories later….Cat, Chaps and Emma
