And the leftovers are almost gone…

Daisy Lynn and I are deep into our howlowday card picture planning!

More wondering if we can top the last 2 years???

Love Cat, Daisy Lynn, and (Chaps and Emma ATB thinking it’s going to be hard…)

Happy Thanksgiving to all of the Residents!

November 26th, 2015 - 11:11 pm KY Time

Howllow Fellow Basset Hound and 2015 Thanksgiving Lovers…

The Mayor Daisy Lynn and I were again flabbergasted that the basset hound did not even get the benefit of being shown in the hound group today at the National Dog Show???  This makes 3 years in a row…Whatever…

Well, we held our own dog show and Daisy Lynn was the winner!

Winner, Winner, Turkey Dinner!

More loving our own dog shows later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB eating Turkey)

PS – The Fox dog rescue show tonight should have been called Pit Bull rescue show.  No, no, no, all kinds of NO!  So irresponsible and NO Thanks for that!

As Dog as my witness – I will never go hungry or cold again…(Snood;)

November 24th, 2015 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and designer snood lovers….

As many of the residents know I am introducing a line of hand sewn couture snoods which are designed and presented in my new bassethoundtown.com collection.  Most of the material I have collected is vintage and extremely rare.

I purchased this lush emerald green velvet in the late 1980s at the Turkish Bizarre in Instanbul.  Turkey is know for ultra high quality solid upholstery weight cotton/silk velvet that can also be used for drapery applications. The price of this velvet can now run in the 40 dollar per yard range.

This velvet is now a part of the “Tara” collection as designed and presented by bassethoundtown.com.

This particular snood is a size small. (See photo details below)

It is for stylish hounds that could care less about drapes but desire the heavy duty material that makes them!

This snood is sturdy and will keep long ears warm for those frosty winter walks along with a host of other functions. Keeping basset ears clean in a urban setting can be a challenge and a mess.  Pop the “O’Hara” on and off you go.

It is machine washable in cold water and tumble drying is suggested!  This snood will keep it’s color and will never shrink.

This snood is also made with a button hole – elastic adjustable feature that will fit snugly as your hound bounds down any pathway.

Show hounds will look like classy stars ring side as this lush fabric catches the spotlight!

No need to rip your curtains off the wall –

Let bassethoundtown envelop your hound in this emerald green velvet masterpiece.

(Rhett will certainly become beguiled…)

Check back for more inspiring snoods from the “Tara” collection in days and weeks to come.

The “O’Hara Snood” is shipped free in the USA and comes with 2 free blank greeting cards from the Lily collection…

A 20% off coupon will be included as well for your next purchase from the bassethoundtown.com boutique.

As Dog as my witness – I will never go hungry or cold again…

This item is returnable if you are not satisfied or it does not fit.

More loving this collection later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, Chaps and Emma ATB wearing rainbow snoods…(I have those as well!)

It was a whirlwind, wild, wonderful weekend with Annie Alessandro!

November 22nd, 2015 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Annie Alessandro Lovers…

Did I say whirlwind?

Ok, most if not all of the residents know howl much I love to take pictures. This pic represents the dozens of pics I took of the 2 of them together!  LOL

But in our separated moments I did get some money shots!

What do you think???

“Can I have another tiny piece of cheese Aunt Cat?  PLEASE…”

Annie spent the weekend with the Mayor because her Mommy and Daddy went to their son’s wedding.

We remained vigilant with the potty training and Annie got an A+!  She adored the ladies room!  I do too!  hehehe…

Now it’s share time in bassethoundtown!

Look what Judy gave me as a thank you for lovingly caring for her baby girl.  I am obsessed with this throw…

OMDOG!  Look what Judy did.

She embroidered the names of all of my hounds on their own basset hound…

Natalie, Chloe and Lily…Amazing…

The iconic Emma and Chaps…So touching…

And the famous current Mayor…

Daisy Lynn Rudert…

Can you see why I am obsessed?

I have mad skills when it comes to still life, but not so much blurred life!

More loving whirlwinds and treasured throws later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB – under a rainbow throw…)

Abigail (Abby) Alessandro 4/29/02 – 11/16/15…

November 17th, 2015 - 11:11 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Missing Abby Lovers…

She was a precious and sweet soul all wrapped up in a little basset body.  She was a petite sweet.  Such a joyful doll…

Her Mommy Judy wrote her obituary….

“Today we lost our sweet little girl – Abigail Alessandro. Abby was 13 1/2 years old and is survived by her mom Judy, dad Rick and her baby sister Annie.

She was preceded in death 6 months ago by her brother Bumper Alessandro.

Abby fought her bladder cancer with dignity for as long as she could. She just wore out after 6 months of chemo. Abby loved her family and “her kids”- our grandkids. She was the sweetest little girl ever. There was never a person that Abby did not like.

I would like to thank her vets as they helped Abby fight this disease and help her to the bridge where she will meet Bumper again and one of our grandkids Paige who loved her so much.

Thank you also to Heidi Wolin who helped me understand her chemo and to Cat Rudert for all her love and support in helping her to the bridge. I am forever grateful.

Abby will return home next week.”

I met Abby and Bumper in 2009.  Their Mommy Judy contacted me and we became fast friends.  I loved visiting Abby and Bumper every chance I got.

Abby used to love for me to watch her explore her back yard.  It was one of her favorite places…She was chasing her squirrel friends to the very end.

Dog Speed darling Abby…you will be missed by all of those you touched especially me.  Aunt Cat…

More loving and missing Abby later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB with Abby right now:)

The Houndies are Begging – it’s our Holiday Raffle!!!

November 12th, 2015 - 4:04 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and House of Puddles lovers…I have been a lover and volunteer of HOP since Marilyn founded it.

It takes a lot of money to provide food, medications and veterinary care for all these old hounds. And then there are the diapers for the incontinent ones, the insulin and syringes for the diabetic ones, the special ear cleaners and shampoos for the ones with chronic ear infections and skin allergies, the nutritional supplements and special diets for the ones with cancer and other health issues… you get the idea.

So anyone want to help out the elders? They are so cute…

Want to see who lives at HOP? – CLICK HERE FOR THE HOUNDIE PAGES…

This just in from Marilyn…

“Just two days left of our raffle.  Have you gotten your tickets yet?”

The Hoppers are groveling.

This is one of our major fundraisers of the year, raising much needed money to provide food, veterinary care, medications and whatever other needs our homeless senior basset hounds have.

“Hi!  I am frosty face Fred!”
Tickets are $1 each. Get 5 tickets FREE for every 25 you buy (email olddogs@houseofpuddles.org after you place your order to let us know where to apply the free tickets).  Click “View Details” for larger images, then you can click on the images for even larger sizes. Credit and Debit cards accepted.

100% of ticket sales benefit the senior hounds, so buy a lot and buy often!  Or buy a few, any amount helps.  Funds have been dwindling so we really need your help.

Raffle ends November 13th at midnight PST.”

Note from Cat and Daisy Lynn – Bassethoundtown has donated 2 raffle packages for HOP Holiday Raffle.  If anyone win either one and lets me know via the comment section I will send an addition gift to you valued at 20 dollars.  Wow!  It pays to be a bassethoundtown resident!

More loving HOP later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB with all of the late HoPpers;)

Is this cute, or what?
