Chaps and Emma considered messy and an intimidation????

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and, What Ever, lovers! Today Grandma and I took the kids to the Historic Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum.

ps

It was a beautiful day for a drive and we thought we could get some pictures of the kids in front of some totally stunning dog woods that we heard were in bloom.

dw

Well, we did not get any pictures because some cemetery/arboretum cop, with lights, drove up and told us to leave.

OK, OK, no prob. We informed him that nowhere did we see any signs that no dogs were allowed on the grounds. He agreed that it would probably be a good idea to post that at the front gate, then handed us a flier!

The kids were just wanting a pet! It was the strangest thing. The grave yard cop was all ignoring the kids!

Then we were kicked out! Howl can anyone kick out those faces? Just look at the look on Emma’s face. She does not have a messy bone in her body.

Look at Chaps, he was smiling. Goodness gracious, those looks just want to make me cry. All we wanted to do was enjoy some beautiful old dog woods.

Here is what the flier said……..

“One of Spring Grove’s goals is to provide a safe, memorable atmosphere for our property owners and visitors who come to visit loved ones, meditate, or simply walk through the grounds and enjoy nature.

Pets, particularly dogs, can be a nuisance and a possible threat to others. They can cause a disruption to the day-to-day visitation and on-going burial services. Some pets, even the friendliest, can be a source of intimidation to visitors who are not familiar or comfortable with pets. In addition, pets can be messy, which is an unpleasant experience for those who have come to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the grounds.

To ensure a safe, enjoyable experience, pets are not permitted on the grounds.
We thank you for your cooperation in leaving your pets at home.”

END OF FLIER…..

Could they have not just posted a NO PETS sign at the gate? Obviously the person who wrote that flier does not care for dogs, AKA filthy creatures!

We laughed all the way home! It really was quite funny!

More, knowing that Chaps and Emma are not messy or an intimidation later……
Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma.

P.S. Grandpa would hate that place!

Well now, that is just incredibly rude. How could he stand there, hand out that ridiculous flier and then not even pat the kids on the head. I suppose they wouldn’t want children there either – they are terribly messy and make people uncomfortable.

My mom always said that if a place didn’t welcome her dog, then they didn’t welcome her either.

OM – Just too rude! It was so strange. He was all dressed up in a black suit with black sunglasses. It was all just too weird. It made GM and I feel really uncomfortable. We were back in the old section. We found some really old dog woods. I kid you not there was not one sign that said there were no dogs allowed. It was really CREEPY!

We will never go back there again….

This is ridiculous! Sounds to me like the grave yard cop has a job that was made for him – the grim reaper fits him better. I feel that in some cases dogs are better behaved than people. We all learned a lesson today to stay away from that cemetary – I certainly will not take my “messy kids” there.

That MEN IN BLACK TYPE guard was just too stuffy for me. Well, I send cyber pets to both of the kids….those faces are just too wonderful to ignore!

Judy – It was so strange. Here we were back at an old dog wood tree and it was like we were robbing a bank. Come one! Sick Heads!

Plus, I just want to add that “Spring Grove” seemed a bit run down. YIKES!

Oh geez, did they really need to go in to that whole long drawn out explanation of why pets are not allowed? Yes, a simple sign saying “No Pets Allowed” would have averted all the drama. What a very uncomfortable feeling. And Emma and Chaps just look so very sweet.

Chaps and Emma sure do look like an intimidating pair of dogs. Just look at their faces. Emma looks like she could lick someone to death! I did hear that Spring Grove was getting run down – I think there was some mismanagement of money to be used for upkeep. Warning to all hounds – stay away!

Run!!!! The evil hounds will eat you:) What will people think? Most dogs are neater and respect things more than some people I know. Sorry Chaps and Emma for the treatment you got, we love you:)

It is not only rude it is discrimination. Chaps and Emma were there to enjoy nature’s beauty too, and they probably would make this place even more beautiful with their presence and showing everyone how well behaved they are.

I would never go to a place that would distribute such a document. That document sounds like it has been influenced by the writings of the Klu Klux Klan!

I, Boss Basset (Slinky), suggest to Mayor Chaps of Basset Hound Town, that none of the employees/administrators of Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum are welcome in Basset Hound Town. We do not want to encourage any of their discrimation practices.
