Chaps sent me a message from the rainbow bridge via facebook!…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and message lovers.  I guess I should have said, Chaps sent us all a message from the rainbow bridge via facebook.  Let me explain.  Over the weekend I have been on facebook following 2 of my friends that live in Japan.  They were on vacation seeing different interesting places around Japan.  They had Hal the basset hound with them.  I adore Hal and the girls.

This is Kaz, Mari and Hal.

I kept commenting that I wished I was on the trip and howl much fun it would be.  The girls kept posting their pictures and then last night I saw this one.

It hit me immediately.  Chaps looking at me, the way he always looked at me, with adoration which was mutual, his head resting on the cloud.

I asked Kaz to tell me more about the picture but she has not gotten back to me yet.  The Google translation from her comment said,

They had been previously commenting that the weather was bad and where was the sun?  This comment referred to briefly seeing the sun, (little did they know it was my son!)

I printed out the picture in black and white and lightly traced out what I saw.  I want to give the residents a closer look.

Chaps looking at me, using the cloud as a pillow.

Here are some pictures that remind me of the way he appeared in the clouds over Japan.

I am sure that Chaps is watching over you and everyone in bassethoundtown. This was his job for many years and it is comforting to know that he is still keeping an eye on you. He has to be sure Daisy Lynn is working out too!!

Isn’t it amazing how these messages are sent?

Rugs was always such a scared, jumpy boy. I always say that he taught me how to do things more quiet. Well, this past weekend I dropped something and it made a big bang. Out of habit, I looked around to see who I startled. Harriet lifted her head, Jethro and Oz slept through it. If Rugs was around he would have jumped out of his skin. After I dropped something I used to always say, “Sorry Rugs!” It’s funny how you remember certain things about your hounds and they will never be forgotten.

Chaps is so kind to let us know how he is doing, and that he is still keeping an eye on things.

I heard back from Kaz…She was very touched and frankly overwhelmed. She said that the mountain Chaps was above is called Yatsugatake. I googled it and Wiki said,

“According to legend, Yatsugatake was once higher than Mount Fuji, but Fuji rose up and threw down its rival leaving the collection of peaks we have today. Yatsugatake is older than Fuji and as Fuji rose in prominence Yatsugatake wore away”.

I believe that Yatsugatake wore away to give Chaps room to come through. We all know that the Mayor was larger than life itself.

    Love, Mommy to cloud boy…
