Daphneyland Update – Gearing up for Cesar Millan!

August 20th, 2007 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and 15 minute of fame lovers:

This is an update from Dawn of the West! Slurp, this should be interesting!

Everyone having a great summer???
I must apologize for the major delays in updates this summer, our hound numbers have never been higher and the workload is keeping us on our toes. With days stretching from early mornings to wee hours, we’re just to tired to update anyone.

I promise we’ll be getting a newsletter out SOON – there is so much stuff to tell –

For this update I’m focusing on the upcoming weekend –
As we head into our weekend, the big rumblings you hear from the mountain are 100 hounds preparing for their 15 minutes of fame…..
Delayed though it has been, we are all set to shoot an education video with Cesar Millan next week.
Which puts the hounds in a mad rush to look their absolute best for the cameras!! (and adoption for one lucky hound).

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:
Saturday – Spruce Up
Sunday – Bath Day – round #2 and Spruce Up
Monday – BLEACH DOWN AND SCOUR
Tuesday – The Dog Whisperer arrives at Daphneyland and the Hounds get to train him.
We’ll be all about bassets that day – 100 (plus) hounds – ready and raring to get belly rubs……
No shushing us!!!

If you can help on any of these days, come on by the ranch –
And incase that doesn’t entice one enough… our weather is much better than either valley, we haven’t felt an earthquake (well except Aunt Shirley but she’s shakey to begin with) the breeze is wonderful, We’ll make Aunt Devon kiss wet hounds AND you just MIGHT get to cuddle a Firecracker Pup.
-6- weeks old this last Wednesday, the pups traveled to their favorite vet Dr. Kim, who pronounced them disgustingly healthy and puppy shots began!!
Not tempting enough???
There is also Noah the Borzoi and if you have never seen a Borzoi….. well, ethereal is all one can use to describe our lovely visiting Noah…….

Come rub bellies.
Come help clean.
Come help bath the band of irritated hounds for round #2
Come cuddle with firecracker puppies (all cuddlers will be patted down before departure)
Kiss a Borzoi.
Marvel at the Pit-Basset Mix named Freightliner……
Hear one hundred and something hounds a howl’in (well okay, you could roll down your windows on the freeway but what fun is that?)
Hear tales of Producers and white jeans………………..
FOSTER A HOUND!

OH WAIT!!! SHADE STRUCTURES ARE IN THANKS TO DAVID & ETTORE!!!
They look Incredible and both Hamilton Walsh’s watering hole, and the Betty Warthog-Seneca Asylum (pay special attention to this park as CM will be doing some serious taping here) are now shaded!!! Extra shading went into the Bad Boy Acre as well…………

So many things!! So little time.
Can the Wild Hounds of Daphneyland be tamed??
Check in and see!

And keep your fingers crossed for the hounds on Tuesday August 21 – It should a very educational day…

YouTube transport video

August 18th, 2007 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Ozark Mountain Basset Hound Rescue saved 24 mill basset hounds recently. This is a video how transport coordinator, Tanya Kittrell, arranged a massive effort to get 5 of these hounds to two different basset hound rescues, (Mid-Atlantic and New England Basset Hound Rescue) . It involved 22 legs and took place this weekend (8/17-19/07). This video does not include the 19th. I hope to do part two. I have one hope for this video. Please help shut down puppy mills. These poor dogs are so abused. When you get a dog, know where it comes from. Please do not shop at a pet store. Sweet hounds like this suffer. Also, look at the work it takes for many people to rescue and save the dogs who are lucky. Thank you for reading this from, the 24 puppy mill hounds who do not want others to live in hell. Slurp!
