Howllo Fellow Hound and Rudolph Lovers: Well, our Rudolph won the lottery by getting a coveted space at the House of Puddles, but he did not understand that! He has be so abandoned in his 12 years that he is angry. He needs to be the only dog in a family and Marilyn found him the perfect place.

Howllo Fellow Hound and Firstgiving Lovers!

I am totally jazzed that Our Firstgiving page has had the most donations in the last 7 days with a total of 25! Can you believe it? Firstgiving is a huge international Charity site and we are number 1! Do you know what this means? Basset Hound Lovers are the the best! We take care of each other and most importantly, we respect our elders! When has a basset hound ever come in first? In most dog shows they wind up on the cutting room floor! Not today baby! Our hounds show up as number 1!

(Click on the little thumbnail to see how we are number 1. It is listed as Cathy Rudert, (me, Chaps and Emma’s Mommy)

UPDATE – This just in from Devon – Basset needs help in AL

January 1st, 2008 - 4:04 pm KY Time

THIS JUST IN FROM BHRA:

We are aware of this little girl and are working to have her pulled from the shelter and get her up to Clanton so she can be vetted and posted on our website.
If anyone out there can help, please let me know.
Robbie

Howllo fellow hound and AL lovers: We may have partied hardy last night but the hard work continue today. It is not a holiday for hounds that are abused and homeless. There is no happy new year for them without us!

Devon asked me to post this from someone who sent it to her.

“Maybe you could post this on your blog? Poor girl…In Alabama”

Bassett2.jpg

This is a Basset Hound we have at our shelter that needs ‘rescuing’. Because of her physical condition, she is NOT for adoption, but will only be released to an approved rescue. This little girl has obviously been bred to death, but did not come in with any puppies. She is very, very sweet, walks well on a leash, is fine around other dogs and is also very quiet. She doesn’t have the typical ‘Basset bark’. We have not vaccinated her, but rather have been giving her canned and dry food mixed with nutrical. This week, she’ll be dewormed and frontlined also. If you can help, please let me know. Thank you.Bassett.jpg
