Howlllo Fellow Basset Hound and Laverne Lovers. Well, one of the many greats passed away in her sleep today at House of Puddles. Laverne was a fine old lady who brought so many of us joy. We all loved hearing Marilyn’s stories of her though out the years. She was actually a favorite of my nephew, Julian. He loves drawing and he picked Laverne as a special project after she went blind, like Emma. We packed up all of Emma’s eye medicine after we heard that Laverne was suffering from glaucoma and sent it to House of Puddles.

Here is the finished product we sent. Julian and I went out and picked out this frame that looked so lady like.

Here is a close up just of Julian’s drawing…..I just love how he used gray pencils to showcase the gray hair on her face. Just priceless!

Both Julian, (my nephew) and I know how hard it is for a hound to go blind. They stumble and fall but if they are lucky, they have humans like Marilyn to pick them up. I know there are many of you like that on this site. I know Julian and I are 2 of them.

HOWLLO FELLOW BASSET HOUND AND YELLOW PAGES LOVERS! We have been waiting and waiting for this proud moment since Chaps was announced as the winner in the companion photo contest for the cover of the Yellow Pages. He could not have won without the residents of basset hound town and their daily votes to support his cause of donating the
1000 dollar prize money to House of Puddles.

So, here it is dear residents!

I am just beyond excited. I am in the process of getting as many copies as I can get my paws on.

OK – this is really cool. When you open the book this is the first page!

The small print is all about the Yellow Pages. I am so excited to get out there and market this. I am going to network this beyond belief. I am so excited. Oh, I already said that! LOL

The pug is the winner of the Hamilton County (Cincinnati) contest. She will be on the cover of that Yellow Pages. Chaps will be in the “runner up” position for that book. Chaps received the most votes over all! Again, thank you to all of the residents who voted for him. I cannot wait to get out in Northern KY and network this. I am going to call of the local TV stations, newspapers, and all regional media. Chaps is really ready for his multiple close ups. Just look at him admiring his cute self!~

We drove down to the public library today to sign their book. They had not received it yet so we are going back to do it with hopefully a hoopla! I will call the local media.

I think Chaps and I are going to be really busy coming up. Emma will come along as well. The spot light will love her!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Grandma lovers! I could tell that the kids missed their Grandma today. Their Grandma is not unlike many Grandmas that spoil the grand kids! She waits on them hand and paw while she is in charge!

Chaps was so happy to see her, he would not take his paws off of her feet. She was not going to go anywhere without his approval!

Emma was listening to every sound and she also received her belly inspection and full body massage.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and looking at cute faces lovers! OMG! This is what Chaps has been doing all day. Staring at me. I just can barely get any work done because I keep having to pet him and love on him.

And then he does a yawn with a cute little shutter at the end. It is just almost too much to bare all of this cuteness.

I think I need to call off work today and just love on hounds! YES!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Drool Lovers! LOL! The hounds are so glad to have me home they are following me everywhere. So, I am carrying my camera around trying to get a cute picture when I hear Emma drinking water. That should be cute!

Someone saw my car at VMI and wanted to ask me a few questions about basset hounds.

“Do they drool much?”

Yes, indeed. They do drool a fair amount.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and feeling sorry for the kids lovers!

I NEVER go anywhere that I take a suitcase. How in the world do the kids know to be super depressed? They never lay around like this in the morning. Well, they are just super smart and know more than we will ever know.

I am all packed and ready to roll. VMI here I come. I will not be blogging from the road or even tweeting for that matter. I don’t have that capability yet.

The kids are going to be better than fine with their Grandma and Grandpa!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and wondering if Chaps is going to NYC lovers! Well, I am ceartainly one of those!

I got a call today and it seems that they still want Chaps to come to NYC to do the morning shows. OK, who really knows but we will see. It is now pushed out a few weeks!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and not lost soul anymore lovers! Our Lou was adopted this evening by a “wonderful” family according to the Campbell County Pound.

Lou, AKA Duke, was all set to go to the wonderful Outlaw Basset Hound Rescue in OH. He was to be transported out to them tomorrow by when fate stepped in twice. First in the form of Outlaw and then in the form of his new forever home. It was love at first sight and Lou (I think the family is going to keep the new name) is probably laying in someone’s lap as I type.

Lou is a young boy with a super sweet disposition. He was an “at large” repeat offender and the shelter workers were hoping that he did not go back into his unsafe environment. However, the law in Campbell County gave the previous owners 7 days to claim him and pay his fines which they did not.

Lou became a ward of the county yesterday and it took less then 24 hours for him to get scooped up and become the newest member to a beaming and overjoyed family.

I don’t think I have ever helped a lost soul that found a home so quick! Some times the planets line up!

Cheers to Lou and to all of you who slung him drool. IT WORKED!
