!!!!!THE RULES/THE FINE PRINT!!!!

As a volunteer transport coordinator, I am dependent on what the senders tell me about our passengers’ temperaments. The very nature of rescue transport creates some risk for those who participate in it; even a good-natured dog may find it stressful to be passed from stranger to stranger and cooped up with unfamiliar dogs, and in consequence may act in uncharacteristic ways. Neither I nor anyone associated with this transport can accept liability for any accidents or incidents that may occur during the transport.

If you wish to adopt a dog you have driven you must go through regular channels (the receiving rescue). No dog leaves this transport.

Please do NOT bring your own personal pets on this transport. This can create a number of potential risks. It is also advised not to bring small children along on transports.

Overnighters: Please take appropriate precautions when over nighting dogs. I always recommend keeping your overnight guests segregated from your own animals for many reasons. We only know what we’ve been told about the passengers on this transport and as such, cannot make any guaranties.

Wow! Now that is a good looking crew!

Frank and Tina and the Baby!

February 20th, 2010 - 11:11 am KY Time

Hollow Fellow Basset Hound and Frank and Tina Lovers. I was looking for something on YouTube and saw that this video was uploaded just a few hours ago! I am a huge fan of Frank the Tank and follow himz closely! hehe

Recently the family lost their precious Sarah. They have now opened their home and hearts to a new girl named Tina! She is a real doll……

Franks Mom states,

“Everyone was hanging out on the floor after dinner last night — see how well Tina has settled in!”

I’ve said it before and I will say it again…That is one lucky baby!

More lucky babies later…Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Some snow on the roof…….

February 19th, 2010 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Snow on the Roof Lovers….

Most of us have snow on our roofs right now, but I am talking about another kind of snow on the roof. The white snow that appears on the head of our hounds……..

IMG_1360

Chaps is almost totally gray now on his face and head. He is also mostly gray on his haunches.

Ahhhhhhhhh…….

We have snow on the roof and the back deck!

More loving the seniors later…..Cat, Chaps and Emma

Don’t forget! If you want to measure your hounds ears we will archive it here at bassethoundtown!

February 19th, 2010 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and wanting to know who has the longest ears lovers!

Don’t forget! We have a sub blog to keep track of this! In this sub blog you will find the GUIDELINES FOR MEASURING.

February 19th, 2010 - 9:09 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Movie pick lovers..

This weekend pick is a gin u wine favorite from Cat! It is called:

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil

mnitgogae

I cannot believe that it was back in 1995 that I read this book while vacationing in the Low Country.

This book was made into a move a few years later and directed by Clint Eastwood.

Add it to your list if you wish to go into the garden of good and evil……..

More movie picks later…..(the book is great as well!) Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

February 19th, 2010 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Bumper Birthday Lovers! Ahhhhhh……..

Bumper’s Mommy sent these pictures to us yesterday, on Bumper’s special Birthday day! The sweet guy is 8 years old!

Bumper spent the day with his “kids” Kennedy and Davis – Abby is in the background.

100_1293

Bumper and his family live in our home town! Every time we drive past their home we beep our horn!

The next picture he is enjoying a frosty paw. We went to Kroger to get the treat for his party and someone hit my car!!! Not a great day. Bumper and Abby send Chaps and Emma drool and slobber!!! Judy

(Sorry about your car Judy! )

100_1297

February 19th, 2010 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Hippo Lovers…..

I saw this video back in 2007 but I forgot about it. Yesterday, Mary Tipping sent it to me (thank you Mary) and I wanted to share it with my dear readers. You may have already seen it. It has about a half million hits on YouTube…..

JESSICA THE HIPPO!

Wow, that gal can eat! I wonder what she is doing now, 3 years later?

I will try to find out but until then, enjoy!

More loving big Hippo girls under pink blankees later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

Emma would make any bird proud!

February 19th, 2010 - 11:11 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Emma making her nest lovers…

I know, I know…..I have blogged about this many times but this nest must be shared! It should probably be put in some kind of museum. I think that when I find nests on the ground. They are always so pretty.

Anyway……

Here is Our Emma getting ready to start her piece of art….

IMG_5595

I did not want to disturb her so I waiting until she was settled in her nest for this picture.

IMG_5602

Here is an aerial view…..

IMG_5603

Then she heard Grandma coming and that means a hasty re-“treat” to the kitchen!

And the art work is left behind….

More nest building later……Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. At no time did I make one effort to assist her in this effort!

The Basset Hound Walkers: 26 Basset Hounds near Avebury

February 18th, 2010 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and THE BASSET HOUND WALKERS lovers!

top_banner

Join the walkers and their 26 bassets as they roam the hills and dales near Avebury, England.

This was a 5 mile walk at Cherhill, near Avebury, Wilts on 24 Jan 2010. It is just so much fun to watch the Walkers and listen to the commentary!

This video is 10 minutes long so save it for lunch or for happy hour or for both! LOL! Beware, there is a lot of howling and “good throat” from Hamilton! Chaps went a bit nuts!

Ahhhhhhhhh……….

I would love to plan a walk. What a great group of folks!

More dreaming later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
