Hollow Fellow Basset Hound and Flat Basset Lovers….A few days ago Grandma told me to make sure I never was far from my Iphone/Camera.  The tiny moments are the ones that make a giant blog posting.  I thought that was such good advise…as you can see from this shot!

And then the moment was over.  Emma got up and went out the doggie door!  At least I captured it.  What would our weekend be without my quick thinking and Grandma’s advise?

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Baby Emma Lovers.  The night before Grandma and I took off of TX to pick up Emma and Chaps I received this picture from the Breeder.  Keep in mind, I had no idea what pup I was getting but Grandpa had named her.  Can you imagine?

I printed the picture about 6 times and plastered it to the dash board.  I finally had my puppy.  A real face for a real name.

Actually, my Dad named Emma.  He was taking a walk one morning and heard a Mom calling for her child, “Emma…Emma”…Grandpa came home and deemed our new pup…Emma.

I am so glad he named her.  That means the world to me.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and loving this statue lovers.  Well, I am this statue’s biggest fan.  I fell in love with it the moment I saw it.

I was so fortunate to be able to hug the bronze hounds at the 2011 Basset Hound Nationals.

Well, the other night I received a note from a long time supporter and fellow artist of the sculpture.  He said….

“Cat,
The artist who has the three large bronze Bassets has lowered his price by more than $10,000. He has some family medical issues to cover so he’ll sell the pieces for $15,000.”

Well, I am very sorry the artist, Pat Kennedy, has some family medical issues that he must address.  I am reporting this price reduction as I have reported most everything about this wonderful, magnificent, stunning piece of art.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Property Valuation Administration…whatever, not lovers, but anyway…..

Today I was looking at the PVA website and checking out a few things.  Of course I went to look at my own property.  I had to share the picture that was taken of my home. First off, it looks like trees are attacking my home.  I would like to report that the trees are no longer attacking bassethoundtown.

This is just so pawsome!  My big brave boy guarding our home!

Really, maybe only a Mom could see this, but look for the white face and the black nose.  I know that is him.

Just like I knew it was Emma in the other window when Google Earth took a picture of our home.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Spoon Full of Sugar Lovers…..Well…let me tell you all about it.

Our very own Emma was diagnosed about a week ago with a Urinary Tract Infection.  These are somewhat chronic for her.  They are the result of her being allergic to almost everything, including herself.  Grandma and I have really been able to keep these infections at bay by following a very strict and expensive diet but it is worth every penny for a healthy Shimlette!

So, next problem…She won’t take her antibiotic.  I have tried everything.  Cream Cheese – NO!  Mashed Potatoes – NO!  Well, I guess not everything because she is allergic to everything.

What about a bit of Honey drizzled over the mashed potatoes?

Let’s see….

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Too Funny Lovers…….Yesterday, Grandma was back in my office and folded up the quilt that Chaps had been laying on.  We were working back there and we did not want to trip over it.

I had to laugh because the next morning I walked back to the office and saw this….

For some reason he likes laying on the floor, on this quilt versus getting in the office bed.

Hollow Fellow Basset Hound and Rudolph Lovers…Does anyone remember Rudolph?  He was the guy my Mom and I picked up from the pound back in 2007, along with Hermy and helped transport to HOP. Here we are at my vet office.

Darling Rudolph is ATB now but enjoyed his final days being kissed and loved.  Hermey is still at HOP!

I just thought I would share this memory.  Gosh I loved both of them.
