Mayor Daisy Lynn, Grandma and I have been gone for a month on the Lily Book Tour.  Only one of many but albeit the longest tour.

We are now home – #bassethoundtown…

From the hot white beaches to the cold mountain tops we marketed the Lily Book from sand to mountain ridge.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and things you do for love  – lovers…Romeo was over last week for his Summer vacation.  Well, our big, big guy gets so hot…I had the AC turned way, way down and a fan blowing on his butt…

bassethoundtown was as cold as a meat locker…and this little piece of meat needed her gully blanket to stay warm…

I think this is an age old problem with couples – one is hot and one is cold and the fussing over the temp is always and issue…

Daisy Lynn says, “as long as I have my gully I am good with the big guy turning down the temp”.

8 years ago.  8 years ago I was loving these faces.

I am so happy they were in my life and they continue to be a strong force day to day…

So many lessons learned…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Signs from the Rainbow Bridge Lovers…A few mornings ago I woke up to this…

A very vivid and bright rainbow patch on the rug right next to my bed.  I opened my eyes and this is what I saw…

So, I grabbed my camera – (yes I sleep with my phone and with Daisy Lynn;) and snapped a picture.  These moments are fleeting so we must act fast.  Just as I snapped the picture the rainbow disappeared.  Just like that!

So, I went out to the sun room, which by the way is one of the darkest rooms in #bassethoundtown, and looked around to see if I could find the channel my late hounds were using…

Look what I found…

This crystal item hangs from the chandelier in the sun room.  Can you see the sun hitting the bottom of it.  Talk about a channel…

This is a broader view…

A whimsical dog fairy and an acorn to remind me we all start off small (or as a nut) and grow into something mighty…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and super summer Sunday lovers…Today Mayor Daisy Lynn Rudert and I switched from winter to summer mode at the headquarters location of #bassethoundtown.

Interestingly, we have never used our slip cover for Daisy’s couch.

Soooooo pretty!

When the sun shines in the windows it throws a pink hue over everything.  Wow!

Pink is her signature color!!! It makes me smile!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Beach towel lovers…Grandma and I have been looking for a beach towel for Daisy Lynn which by the way has been so much fun.  In our quest for the perfect towel to match ours and bring out her own true beauty we stumbled across this set.

They are not beach towels but I was looking for a towel that was not quite as big as a beach towel for Daisy Lynn so I can carry it in my beach bag.

These were such a great deal I bought them for both of our bathrooms…

So cute…Grandma loves hers…

And an additional one for our Mayor…

Howllow fellow basset hound and walking hound lovers…Well, well, well…this really came up on us fast.

Here is the flier for our next walk.  Print it out and hang it on the fridge at basset hound viewing range!!!  It’s their big day…

Do any of the resident have plans to attend???  I sure hope so!  We all love it so much..

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Spring Time Lovers…The weather has been so nice this week so we decided to sniff on over to one of our favorite spring time parks…Ault Park.  If you live near by you should make a point of heading over to this wonderment.  The strolling is top notch.  The home surrounding the park are just beautiful – what a joy…

Daisy Lynn just loves the fresh spring grasses and we did a lot of sniffing around…

Ault Park, in our opinion and research, has the best cherry blossom display in the area.  We did not catch it at it’s peek but it is a gamble unless you follow their facebook page, which I do, but I missed it.  Regardless – some were still in bloom and it was, GLORIOUS…

Daisy Lynn was so good.  She is just a joy hound and we love her.  She is the boss in our family and we know it!!!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Tri-State Basset Hound Board Waddle Lovers…Wow – I just love this waddle.  I just love Ocean City, NJ.  We did not go but Grandma and I have been in the past.  It was before there was a bassethoundtown.com but there was still a bassethoundtown physical location.  It had to be about 15 to 20 years ago.  Anyway…

I really want to do this event again and maybe take our show on the road and be a vendor.  I was just sniffing around looking for pictures and I found a few that I wanted to share.  OMDog…

Can you even believe it?  You can also see a little garden shovel in the wagon.  This hound wins the prize (if there was one) in my opinion… Look at all of the folks in the background!

Then…look at this truck and the ramp going up the back.  Can you imagine riding with the old folks???  Now that is right where I would want to be!!!

OK, everyone…Ocean City, NJ is calling our names…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and twenty years ago today lovers…Yes, dear fellow residents, twenty years ago today I closed on our home that is fondly referred to as bassethoundtown!  Wow – what a difference 2 decades make and oh howl things stay the same…Twenty years ago Mom, Dad and I had tuna fish sandwiches and champagne to celebrate the biggest and best purchase of my life (also one of the biggest and best days of my life)!  So, Grandma and I recreated the day and we are going to do this every year from here on out…

Now a toast to our home and our life!

Grandma made the tuna fish sandwiches.  Twenty years ago we sat at a card table in the living room – so excited we could not stand it!!!  Oh the projects that were waiting!!!

We are just as excited twenty years later and discover many more fun projects.

Today, to christen our twenty year anniversary we are designing a rock detail to my fire place mantel.  To start the project off we had to find the perfect center stone in our collection.  It jumped right out at us almost immediately…

A heart shaped rock that we found on one of our journeys.  I LOVE IT!!!

Just a perfect way to start off the next twenty years…

We worked on it for a few hours and had a bit more champagne.  I am so in love with this piece of artwork!!!

I better get used to this piece of paper towel super glued to my finger for awhile.  One must suffer for their art!!!
