I am quite sure most of my dear readers remember Homer! Who could forget our boy dumped at a KY shelter on Christmas Eve? Anyway, as can be expected, we do not know Homer’s birthday. So, his Mommy Joni selected today. Joni selected today because this was the birthday of Homer the 1st.
THIS IS HOMER THE 1st!
So, in honor of Homer the 1st and Homer the 2nd the Mayor had proclaimed March the third, Homer Brooks day in Basset Hound Town. This day and every March the third from hear to eternity will be Homer Brooks day in Basset Hound Town.
The Mayor would also like to present Homer the second with the key to
Basset Hound Town.
As you can see, Emma is helping. She is the Mayor’s assistant/first lasy.
Pay no attention to the kibble next to the key please.
Homer the 2nd is asking donations be made to his favorite charity in lieu of lavish presents.

Thank you so vewy muches. Dis is Homer the Second speakin from Geneseo, N.Y. Mommy sayz I amz 12 today and we will have my pawty tonite at 6:30 when the neighborz comes over for cake and ice creamz. My brudder Pally and I goy sicky in the nitez on mommy’s sheets and floorz so sheez a little upsetz this morning. But I knowz she will get over itz by this afternoonz. She will watch her soaps and be happiez againz. So did is Homer II signing off for nowz before sheez seez me on her puter. Thankz you Chaps for the great honorith.xoxoxox

Homer and Pally are playing while Gizzy and I ready the kitchen for the PAWTY. It starts in 3 hours, I hope we’ll be done by then! I got the most adorable paper plates with a cute dog wearing a pawty hat and saying “DO I SMELL CAKE?” and matching pawprint napkins and pawty hats. The kids will love it. The cake has balloons on it and “Happy 12th Birthday Homer”. Of course we’ll have ice cream along with it. More later, I gotta clean.

The pawty is over. Homer and his brudders had a gret time. The 4 kids next door came over with a cute card, a box of milk bones and a bottle of Fido spearmint flavored water. They got alot of treats from the kids plus some cake. Homer played cleanup man and ate Gizzy’s cake while he was eating a milkbone. It was fun to have the kids running around the house and playing with the dogs. Homer’s Aunt Sandra and Uncle Bob came too. Homer was a perfect host and got down off the couch to see everyone to the door. Pics will come tomorrow.
