The HOP has a connection to Chaps Surgery Today!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and wondering what the connection is to Chaps surgery and HOP Lovers…..Well gather round all ye hounds and hold your tails up high in pride!
The day before yesterday I went to the Jewelry store to price some fine donations of Gold and Jewels for House of Puddles Gold Rush.
I blogged about the first one already from Terry that made 146 dollars. It is about 5 or 6 blog postings down.
Anyway, the other donation is from Ginny Tata-Phillips
There is lots of cool stuff that is going to be listed in the HOP boutique in a few days. However do you see that little black box with the tiny cross in it? My jeweler told me that it was worth about 30 to 40 dollars retail due to it’s size, weight and it is 14K. They were pretty spot on because I checked it out on ebay. Here is the link I found most like it. The weight of the gold is a bit more on the ebay cross. It is .08 and ours is .05.
So, my Dad was sitting with Emma this morning while we were getting Chaps ready and he saw the cross in the BHT photography section, aka dining room, on top of a clean water bowl. I was telling him that I thought it was for a baby or child. So did the Jewelers and Ginny.
He asked me how much it was and I said, “40.00”.
Grandpa then said,
“I want to buy that for Chaps collar so he can wear it during his surgery.”
I said, “Really, that is so sweet and special!”
Grandpa really likes the little charm and wants to reserve it for occasions like this. He wants Emma to share it as well. When and if she goes in for surgery again or for a dental I will attach it to her collar. Grandpa said that a baby cross is perfect for our baby hound dogs!
I immediately ran and got Chaps collar and attached it to the jump ring with his lucky penny that Grandpa gave him.
This is Chaps heading in to the Vet office this morning. I requested that he wear his collar during surgery and the Doctor said that was fine. NO PROBLEM at all.
When we got home with Chaps he ran right to his Grandpa. It was too cute. I saw Grandpa look at the little cross charm and then he looked at Chaps and said,
“Worked like a Charm!”
Is that where that saying came from?
More thank God that is over moments later…..Love, Cat, Chaps (resting comfortably) and Emma
Awwww, what a sweet Grandpa Chaps has! Cat, please give your dad an extra big hug from me. He is certainly one very special man.
Oh my goodness! Chaps was sure to come out ok with all those good luck charms he was wearing. Tell your Dad that I think he is the greatest. You are so lucky to have such wonderful parents.
I will Marilyn! I will always treasure this baby cross!
