Left overs…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Left Over Lovers:

This post does not really have anything to do with basset hounds, except that they love left overs! LOL….

Anyway, I just thought I would tell my left over story that turned out very good. I had eggs, butter, stale bread, bits of cheese, spinach dip, Swiss cheese spread, fried onion rings and a few bacon bits.

I melted the butter in the baking bowl and added the stale bread that I dunked in the spinach dip. Then I whipped the eggs with the bacon bits and added it over the bread adding some fried onion rings from the NYE party. Then, I added more of the stale bread pushed under the egg mixture with the Swiss cheese spread to the top and covered it with the left over shredded Havarti cheese. Then I doused it with Tabasco.

I baked it at 350 for about an hour because it was a deep dish. You have to keep checking it depending on your oven.

The mixture was well below the top of the bowl when I started and I put a piece of foil underneath it. The stale bread was full of the mixture and it was really good.

It was totally yummy. I had 3 meals out of it.

Chaps and Emma got a bit of the bread infused with egg below the Tabasco.

Chaps would not leave the kitchen for hours after his bite. He loves left overs!

that sounds really good..looks pretty good too….

can’t say that ANYONE sat in the kitchen looking lovingly at my instant oatmeal…not even me!

    on the weather front:
    15 degrees out
    winds at 37 mph
    windchill too low to mention

buster ate my toothbrush while standing on the bathroom sink so we had to venture out just in case i died i didn’t want to be found with fuzzy teeth…so we stopped for 15 minutes at the dog park…took longer to dress bonehead coop in his coat (2 strips of velcro who would have thought it would be such a challenge for him..well on second thought..it is cooper).

now back inside..with nosebleeds, snow (outside, sorry) and bathroom door is closed…not buying another toothbrush tonight!

warmer weather for the week…yee hah!!!!

Sounds delicious, and it shows that Chaps and Emma believe in what Woodrow Wilson said: “Waste Not, Want Not”

Although it is obvious that Chaps wanted more!

That sounds right tasty, Cat! My Romanian neighbor often puts together these fantastic meals from a little of this and a little that left over in the fridge–she calls them EMG dinners–“everything must go!” She wastes nothing–it’s very inspiring!
