Rudolph gets a new home today!

January 3rd, 2008 - 11:11 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Rudolph Lovers: Well, our Rudolph won the lottery by getting a coveted space at the House of Puddles, but he did not understand that! He has be so abandoned in his 12 years that he is angry. He needs to be the only dog in a family and Marilyn found him the perfect place.

Are you having trouble making a donation?

December 31st, 2007 - 6:06 pm KY Time

Hi folks: I just heard that some of you are having trouble making a donation to our sweet Firstgiving Page.

http://www.firstgiving.com/cathyrudertbassethoundtown

Are you on a MAC? If so try another browser other than Safari. Try Firefox or Netscape. It worked for my graphic designer and she was having the same trouble.

Please don’t give up! I can add donations other than Firstgiving to the tally! You can send Marilyn a paypal donation and she will forward your messagae to me along with the amount that you sent so I can add it to the FG page. (She will keep the $ and just tell me what you sent).

Marilyn’s Paypal is: olddogs@houseofpuddles.org

Remember you have to log on to paypal and send her money via this address. Make sure you tell her that it is for the sock hop so we can add you to the Tally! Slurp!

You can always send a check as well. Her address is:

House of Puddles, Inc.
4422 Reels Mill Rd.
Frederick, Md. 21704

Again, make sure you tell her to add you to the Tally! I want to see that red line move like a bullet! LOL!

December 22nd, 2007 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and Rudolph Lovers, (I am a huge fan), anyway please read the LOLHOP news letter with a plea from Marilyn. Rudolph is upsetting the other Hoppers and we need to find him a smaller family.

Like Marilyn said, he is a beautiful boy with lots of love to give his own special human.

Do you know of anyone that fits the requirements?

Marilyn’s e-mail is in the newsletter.

Did you hear about this? Pregnant Basset in danger – KY Shelter?

December 15th, 2007 - 6:06 pm KY Time

UPDATE WITH PICTURE AND GOOD NEWS AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST!

Howllo Fellow Hound and NOT pregnant basset lovers! This was on some of the boards and the drool, here is the post from Susan of Bluegrass Basset Hound Rescue!

I just got a call from a shelter that they have a very pregnant young
female basset. This dog will die if we cannot pull her, and we cannot
pull her with no place to put her. Is there anyone out there–feel free
to cross post this far and wide–willing to take on a Mama and babies?
My kids would love it—but I am at my limit while the Soldier Daddy
is here (not to mention my parents.)

It just occurred to me today that we have our own House of Puddles thing
going on here at Bluegrass, given that we have 15 senior bassets in
our system.

We are drowning, just without the water….

Well, here is the e-mail I just got from Susan aka wonder woman!

Cat:

If you saw my postings about a pregnant basset in Madisonville, KY, be aware that she is no longer there. She is HERE, along with the 10 surviving puppies!! “Delilah” is resting snug and warm with her babies in a swimming pool filled with blankets in my daughters’ bed room. Here she is. She is scheduled to go to foster care tomorrow…..pray the weather holds!

Enjoy and send money to Bluegrass, they are going to need it! Click here! PLEASE! (delete my e-mail and fill in your own!) Slurp

Keep checking back, this is going to be fun! Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

P.S. I told Susan she was a wonder woman and her reply was:

“A very tired wonder woman! I had to be in Russellville, KY (45 min east) to give a foster home one of my dogs at 9 AM. Then I had to rush back to get Delilah. I was thinking I just had a fat girl to deal with but the puppies couldn’t wait, I guess. I was hoping they wouldn’t have to be born all alone in a shelter (they DID have a blanket on the floor) but Jesus did OK and He was born in a stable 🙂

So, we’re up to 18 canines, 2 cats and 1 goldfish. Please advise me on the closest nuthouse!

Susan 🙂

She is tired and funny!

Rudolph and Hermey’s sleigh ride to the House of Puddles

December 9th, 2007 - 9:09 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and sleigh ride lovers:

We had so much fun yesterday on the sleigh ride. Both boys were so excited. Sporting new collars and freshly bathed we made our way to Columbus.

We are so happy for them. Marilyn checked in last night and said, ” They’re here. They’ve been exploring the far corners of the yard and house. I just fed them dinner, had a little quiet time with them in my bedroom, and now they are off exploring again. Rudolph, Gus & Ricky have been doing the little getting to know you dance in the kitchen, ears pricked up, tails wagging. Hermey has come back to stay by my side. I think Hermey could easily win the longest ears contest. They’ve both been trying to mark all over the house. Guess they’re not used to being inside. They’re both also sneezing, must have a little kennel cough. It’s been a big day for them. I bet they sleep good.”

Thank you all for your help!
Marilyn

NO! THANK YOU MARILYN!

Howllo fellow hound and Howliday card lovers! Wow, the cards are rolling in and I am a bit behind on updating the 2007 album. I will work on it tonight along with pictures and video of our transport.

I have officially been named DoG Mother for Rudolph and Hermey by Marilyn of the House of Puddles. I wear my badge of honor with pride. My Mom officially announced that she is their DoG Grandma! Lucky Hounds!

My Mom, Dad, and Julian each gave 15.00 last night for the Boys. Ah! The milk of human kindness. Gotta love it!
