Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Tri-State Basset Hound Board Waddle Lovers…Wow – I just love this waddle.  I just love Ocean City, NJ.  We did not go but Grandma and I have been in the past.  It was before there was a bassethoundtown.com but there was still a bassethoundtown physical location.  It had to be about 15 to 20 years ago.  Anyway…

I really want to do this event again and maybe take our show on the road and be a vendor.  I was just sniffing around looking for pictures and I found a few that I wanted to share.  OMDog…

Can you even believe it?  You can also see a little garden shovel in the wagon.  This hound wins the prize (if there was one) in my opinion… Look at all of the folks in the background!

Then…look at this truck and the ramp going up the back.  Can you imagine riding with the old folks???  Now that is right where I would want to be!!!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and twenty years ago today lovers…Yes, dear fellow residents, twenty years ago today I closed on our home that is fondly referred to as bassethoundtown!  Wow – what a difference 2 decades make and oh howl things stay the same…Twenty years ago Mom, Dad and I had tuna fish sandwiches and champagne to celebrate the biggest and best purchase of my life (also one of the biggest and best days of my life)!  So, Grandma and I recreated the day and we are going to do this every year from here on out…

Now a toast to our home and our life!

Grandma made the tuna fish sandwiches.  Twenty years ago we sat at a card table in the living room – so excited we could not stand it!!!  Oh the projects that were waiting!!!

We are just as excited twenty years later and discover many more fun projects.

Today, to christen our twenty year anniversary we are designing a rock detail to my fire place mantel.  To start the project off we had to find the perfect center stone in our collection.  It jumped right out at us almost immediately…

A heart shaped rock that we found on one of our journeys.  I LOVE IT!!!

Just a perfect way to start off the next twenty years…

We worked on it for a few hours and had a bit more champagne.  I am so in love with this piece of artwork!!!

I better get used to this piece of paper towel super glued to my finger for awhile.  One must suffer for their art!!!

OMD – we love these towels!  Who knew a towel could mean so much?  Currently, we are searching for a smaller compatible towel for Daisy Lynn..

We would like to find one with these colors…Teal and Pink…

So much fun…I can’t wait to lay this baby on the beach!!!

Howllow Fellow Basset Hound and Puppy Day Lovers.  Too funny.  There is a day for everything and everything has a day.  This one really cracks me up because, well, everyday is Puppy day!

So, I took a picture of my puppy right now.  Isn’t she so very pretty!

Just look at her little neck bags.  Too cute…

Our little Mayor Puppy will be 5 in July.  Can you believe it?  It is really shocking to me at howl fast the past 4.5 years have gone.

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and new Baby Basset Lovers!  Please, drum roll please…

This is Miss Dixie Doyle!!!

Miss Dixie was recently adopted by Cindy and Ronald Doyle of TX.  Cindy and Ronald were ready to find love again after the painful loss of Rugs, Jethro, Ozzie and then Harriet.  They were not sure if they were going to adopt again but we all know howl that goes!!!  hahahaha

Cindy has volunteered for years at Basset Buddies Rescue of TX so she didn’t have to look far to find someone special!

I asked Cindy for a little background…
“The owner who surrendered her to BBRTX bought her from Craigslist for her infant daughter.  Dixie didn’t respond too well with their daughter and that’s why they gave her up.”

Note from Cat…Who buys a basset hound for an infant?   

“Her first foster with BBRTX had her for about a month.  During her time with the first foster she had a false/chemical pregnancy so she went through the surgery to get spayed.  She was still recovering from the spaying when the second home took her in to help her recover from the spay surgery under a foster to adopt situation.  After Dixie was healthy and healed she would be adopted.  Then, unfortunately, she also had heartworms.  So after she recovered from the spaying, she went through the heartworm treatments.  She was forced to stay calm for a whole month and was in some pain but she handled it just fine.  The foster to adopt home had another dog and Dixie is very possessive and protective over her owners so she was getting aggressive with the other dog in the household.  They were also expecting a new baby in a month and they could not have that behavior around the baby.  So, they contacted BBRTX and requested that she be placed in another home more suitable for Dixie.  For this reason Dixie will be an only dog, which is a great situation for us because we will be able to take her with us most places and when we travel.”

(The Doyles have another lake property in TX, this is Dixie thinking about swimming???)

“Dixie has only been with us for a few weeks but she is such a good girl.  She is potty trained, crate trained and minds very well.  She is very smart and her previous family was teaching her a few tricks.  We look forward to getting to know her better and plan on attending some basset events with her in the future.”

“We are so glad that she landed in our arms and she’s already spoiled rotten!”

“And she is so excited to be a resident of the most famous Basset Hound Town, run by the most beautiful and famous Mayor, Daisy Lynn Rudert!”

Howllow Fellow Basset Hound and Lily Pad Serina VonFirstenbug (aka “The Child”) lovers…Wow – it has been 13 years since our Lily Pad went over the rainbow bridge.  Seems so long ago.  Seems like yesterday…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Share Time Lovers…As many of our residents know I love to create and sell things in the bassethoundtown boutique and on other selling platforms.  Many of you may not know that I have a rather large leather collection and I have come up with a few ideas for it.  I decided to purchase a handbag and redesign it.

The basset hound is suede and as you can see it matches the bag perfectly.  I cut it out via a decal I designed as well.

Well, it sold on ebay within 24 hours.  It really made me feel good.

I was going to put it in the basset hound town boutique and blog about it before it sold, but…I guess someone loved it as much as I did…

Howllow Fellow Basset Hound and hounds that love showers lovers…Geezus – I sure with Daisy Lynn loved a shower or even a bath.  I have never seen a hound that goes so berserk if you try to get her wet.
