Lily Book Tour Autumn 2016!

October 23rd, 2016 - 7:07 am KY Time

Howllow Fellow Basset Hound and Lily Book Tour Lovers…

I am going to break this blog up into a few segments because it is just sooooo long but sooooo fun!  I can spread the joy out!  LOL – First off, Daisy Lynn was swarmed everywhere she went.  She opened so many doors for the Lily Book and cards that it was AMAZING.  She is such a great girl and such a big help.  She never met a stranger…

The night before we left I spent a good deal of time getting all of my marketing packages together.  I signed all of the Lily Books and wrote my sales letter to the gift shops.

Here is the Mayor checking to see if I was doing it right…hehehe

The next morning we were up bright and early because we wanted to eat lunch in Berea, KY.  Daisy Lynn was ready and raring to go.  I am holding up the Lily Book Tour record book to document the take off!!!

IMG_9302

We made it to the Historic Boone Tavern Inn about 2 hours later and had a picnic in a near by park.  Then we hit the Tavern Gift Shop and dropped off the Lily Book!

IMG_9309

This place is amazing and there is a college in Berea.  The campus is just out of a picture book;)

The Historic Boone Tavern is right smack dab in the middle of campus.  Isn’t that interesting? It is also dog friendly so we will be back to stay for sure!

IMG_9312

Our tour did not only including marketing the Lily Book and card packages but we also searched out local libraries and charities.

Here we are at the local Library…Daisy Lynn started crying inside and the librarian gave her a stern look!!!  We high tailed it out in quick order after dropping off the book!  hehehe

October 8th, 2016 - 8:08 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and soooooo cute lovers!  Today, Grandma and I were doing a photo shoot with our young Mayor for the Lily Book.  I am working on getting Lily, a Basset Hound’s Tail of Love in several more online selling platforms.  Also, we are marketing to book stores and other cute stores…

OMDOG!!!

“Please everyone stop, listen and gather round this hound…for a story that is sure to inspire and touch your heart…”

“Can everyone hear me?”

Oh, I thought that was so cute and touching.  It is just what Daisy Lynn would think and say and Grandma knew it…

Be careful my friends…

October 4th, 2016 - 8:08 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Be Careful Lovers…The other day Grandma, Daisy Lynn and I were at the park enjoying a beautiful early fall day…That is until we turn the corner and a couple is walking towards us with their unleashed pit bull.  Ugh…What?  REALLY???

I holler, “Please leash your dog!!!”, over and over again and they are standing there looking at me like I said please kill your dog.  It is freaking amazing the stupidity of some people.  It’s not a negotiation – it’s the law.  So, the rather large African American man starts yelling at me, telling me that the reason there are leash laws are only for bad dogs like mine who is pulling on her leash.  He is demonstrating to me howl his pit bull can sit on command.  By now I have figured out that I am dealing with little to no reality with this guy so I tell the girl he is with that there is a pit bull ban in this town.  She looks at me again like I told her to please kill her dog.  She yells at me,  “my dog is a boxer!” In her most adamant tone…

This is going from bad to worse.  I really feel sorry for all the boxers out there that have to put up with this scam to label pit bulls as boxers or lab boxer mixes.  It really is insulting to the breed and to people like me who have to hear this over and over again.  I ask you, howl are all of these boxers and labs getting together to fill every shelter to the gills? Do these people really expect us to believe this?  What is so frightening is some young families do believe this and go home with these unworldly lab boxer mixes putting them and others at risk.

Geezus things go from bad to worse as the man is getting more and more agitated with his demonstration of commands.   I wind up calling our Animal Control Officer and exit the scene.  The couple wander off with their unleashed pit bull type dog and we make it home with all of our limbs and Daisy Lynn intact.  The ACO shows up and tickets them for no license and having their “boxer” off leash.

For the life of me I cannot understand this current fascination with pit bull type dogs.  So far this year 28 humans have been mauled to death by pit bull type dogs.  28!  The animals that have been killed are countless.

Parkw:DaisyLynn

Just a day in the park – fearing for your life and the lives of those who you love.

More not loving this current fascination later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB protecting all of us…)

PS – leash your dog

“You have a real dandy hound there…”

September 27th, 2016 - 10:10 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Dandy Hound Lovers…OMGoodness, that was the cutest thing we heard on our overnight trip to Carter Caves Resort KY State Park.  Grandma, Daisy Lynn and I finally made it back to Carter Caves.  The last time we were there I got sick and Chaps had a panic attack so we high tailed it home.  That was back in 2012.

We had such a great time getting back to what we started so many years ago…

The day started out stormy but not too bad…

Look at the artistic picture that Grandma took out of the window…WOW!

IMG_8856

On the way, there is a covered bridge that we adore.  ADORE!  – Another picture that Grandma took!  WOW!

IMG_8995

We really wanted to have a picnic on the road that leads into the park.  We had the perfect spot all set up and ready to dig in!

IMG_8873

Remember those clouds?  Well they broke open and we did the 5 yard dash to the car!  No one ran faster than Daisy Lynn!!! LOL

IMG_8878

Hey, this could have been even a better spot to eat!  The rain was so cool!  We loved it. It was so much fun…Daisy Lynn was so funny…

IMG_8997

OK, what is wrong with this picture?  This was for an overnight!  LOL!  OK, Daisy Lynn had her own bag and I was on a business trip for the Lily Book.  I had some inventory with me!

We walked up to the Lodge for dinner but we did a carry out.  Daisy Lynn wanted us to bring it back to the room which was fine with us.

IMG_8999

We were anxious to start watching MSNBC and the pre debate coverage.

IMG_9005

Then it was off to the gift shop to sell the Lily Book!  We have about a 1000 more KY gift shops to hit and every one of them will be fun!

IMG_8896

Check this out!  We were also on a rock hunting mission.  Look at the treasures they had in the gift shop!

IMG_9006

But the real treasures were on the way out of the park.  We got another picnic table that overlooked this…

IMG_8898

Perfect…

IMG_8905

The rocks were spectacular and we filled a few larger bags.  So much fun…

IMG_8922

IMG_9010

Adorable on her picnic blanket…

Share Time in bassethoundtown…

September 16th, 2016 - 11:11 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Share Time Lovers…I saw this somewherez on the internet and tucked it away in my “to do list” file!

Isn’t it cute???

It looks like a taco salad topped off with a crust basset hound.

Cuteidea

I am thinking I might do this at my next luncheon.

I certainly have something similar…

Daisy Lynn is dreaming of hound cookies!

Daisy Lynn is dreaming of hound cookies!

That tail is the tricky part.  It is hard to cut out anything with it.  I think I can just add on a tail made of crust.

I will let you know howl it goes…

More loving crust tails later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB eating rainbow tacos;)

PS – extra sour cream please…

It was a wild ride in bassethoundtown last night!

September 11th, 2016 - 11:11 am KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset and hunkering down lovers!  Yesterday we went out run a few errands.  One of which was filling up our care package for our Julian who is away at OSU!  What a fantastic campus.  We cannot wait to go and visit him.  Anyway…we were supposed to get a few evening storms but this was a doozie!

This is 2 streets down from our street and main headquarters of bassethoundtown enterprises!  Daisy Lynn was in her safe house, aka kennel.  We were so worried.  We could not pass through this mess.  The power pole snapped in half!

IMG_8785

So, we checked her camera that is aimed on her kennel and she was sleeping.  We were live viewing when the electric shut off!

So with her safe and tucked in what could we do???

Ya turn around pronto and go to our favorite Mexican Restaurant!  Lord have mercy!!!  The margarita machine was at optimal performance!  Thank Dog their electric did not go out!

IMG_8764

#lifeisgood

Then, after a dose of delicious we ventured out to head home.  Our town is amazing and the whole thing was cleaned up but the electric was still off.

What to do, what to do???

Remember reading???  Reading a real book???

It was a stroke of genius that we had stopped by the library earlier in the week…

No lights?  No problem…

I grabbed my flash light and dove right in!

IMG_8770

Have any of the resident read this book?  So far I really like it.  It’s a murder mystery involving a basset hound, a little boy and the people who come to their rescue.  The basset is not the one murdered or the little boy…FYI…

What a nice way to spend a Saturday evening…

Eventually, the lights came back on and TV started screaming at me but I turned it off and kept reading…

More loving a good basset hound book later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB drinking rainbow slush puppies…)
