Hey, thanks for keeping this topic going. We just heard from Devon yesterday. I think alot of people are mad. We deserve to be. Even Devon wanted us to voice our opinions to ABC. I for one did that several times. Please make sure to send this information to Devon. Chuck and Mr. Man, 13 years old tomorrow.
I think this is great that you are doing this. I just read the article that you have linked, dated 1-10-07. It seems to me that the bald guy was selected prior to any casting call. I looked and did not see any that were before or right after that date. Hopefully, Devon can answer this for us? Devon??? You told us to voice our opinions to ABC, I would like to add this. Hey Cat! Thanks for all the information on the dream. I think alot more needs to be said about what happened and this is the perfect spot. ABC may have gotten scammed themselves. Has anyone heard of votefortheworst.com? I will try to leave more information about it. Karen
I think it stinks that the Drool shut down the Dream thread. They should have at least left it up over the weekend. Hey, Devon, I contacted ABC. Hi everyone: I just e-mailed ABC after reading the Variety article. Very stinky. Looks like someone named Andrea Wong fell down while she was, “fast-tracking” this fake dream show. The producer, Fleiss, runs his business out of Canada from what I can tell. He states right in the article that contestants “could” be someone like a 22 year old bald guy! Hello! The article was written on 1-10-07. This guy also produces The Bachelor. Do people still watch that show? BOYCOTT

Hi Everyone! I just sent a message to the Ellen Degeneres show. She is a huge animal lover and I thought that maybe she would help if she heard the story. Here is what I wrote…
Ellen! I know you are a huge animal lover – I wonder if you saw “The Great American Dream Vote” on ABC the other night with Donny Osmond as the host. There was a woman on that made it to the finals named “Devon Smith”. Her dream was to open a sanctuary for Senior Basset Hounds. Long story short – the audience chose to fulfill a balding mans dream of having hair instead of hers. I was devastated (along with many others). This wonderful woman with a truly selfless dream was beat out by a VAIN man. Her local Basset Hound Rescue that she is associated with, called Daphneyland, has set up on online Donation campaign to make Devon’s dream come true. I was hoping that you could invite Devon onto your show so that she could spread the word about her dream. I don’t know her personally, I only saw her on TV! But I thought of you immediately! I that you have a passion for animals and might consider asking her to be a guest on your show! Her website is http://www.bassethoundtown.com I sure hope that you read this e-mail. I am a huge animal lover and her story has truly touched my heart.
