Sheldon for King of GA Bash 11-3-07
Howllo Fellow Hound and especially Shelodon Lovers! (Me, Me, Me!)
It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since Lisa and I drove to Atlanta for the GA bash. We had so much fun. We picked up Sheldon and Mamie so they could attend the out of towner’s pizza party.
(Sheldon far left, Mamie smack dab in the center, Hector Campbell far right. He is also running for King in a different event. We will showcase the very verbal Hector very soon!)
GUESS WHAT! Sheldon is running for King this year. Sheldon was adopted soon after the bash and has been a thriving family member ever since.
Here is Sheldon’s First Giving Page: http://www.firstgiving.com/sheldon
To see more pictures of Sheldon you can go to his album in my Gallery. Here is the link: Sheldon’s album
To see Sheldon, and the GA Bash last year, view the video! It was made on 11-6-06! It is so much fun! Are you going to the Bash this year?
Please give a few bucks to Sheldon aka Shelly Dog. Every little bit helps.
More Later…Cat, Chaps and Emma
P.S. Mamie was adopted at the Bash last year. I asked her adopter to keep in touch, but she never did. Sigh
Hallooo Cathy, Emma, and Chaps!
Hello also to all of my friends who have been following my story on Basset Hound Town. It has been an amazing twelve months. So much has taken place in the last year that it really feels more like seven years. I had hit rock bottom as a stray running the streets. I was picked up by Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia who cleaned me up and took me to the grandest party of all, the Basset Bash in Atlanta! That is where I met Ms. Cathy. What a nice lady!!
I must admit that I was envious of nearly all of the hounds at the Bash. Most came with their human companions. Many of those that did not have human that they could drag along by a leash found that special someone at the Bash. Many people looked at me, but nobody took me home. Once the fairy tale ended, I was put into foster care. My foster family was fun, but I was still looking for that special family that would take me into their home.
It took three months to find them, but it was worth the wait. Now I get to run and play with my two human brothers and I have found a best friend in my basset brother, Jack. Mom hates the cost of boarding which means that Jack and I get to travel often with the rest of the kids! This summer we spent lots of time at St. Marys, Georgia on the coast. We even went camping with the family on Jekyll Island. I love camping! It is the time when my kibble is supplemented with lots of goodies from the fire. I help with kitchen patrol too! You should see me clean a dutch oven. (I’m working on the requirements for Beagle Scout!) I also got to go camping on a farm just south of Atlanta.
I have seen and done so much, and I am very happy. It was my dream that I could one day return to the Basset Hound Bash. I would like to go back as the dog that all of the other houndies envied. I want to be crowned KING! That is a big dream for such a little hound, but it is my own. I got a taste of being king today when Ms Cathy named me king for the day of Basset Hound Town! My first decree was free tummy yummies and belly rubs for all! (I could get used to this king business!)
Most of you know that I have my own myspace page. You can check me out at http://www.myspace.com/sheldonthedog Of course I’ll keep sending updates here too. My human father can be lazy at times and not help me with my typing. (He can be the royal pain if you know what I mean.) Until then, perhaps you can vote for me to be king at http://www.firstgiving.com/sheldon (By the way, this election can be bought–vote with your dollars.) The money raised goes to the Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia who helped me, and countless other houndies like me, find our forever homes!
Licks and snooters,
Sheldon
Thank you so much Shelly dog for your wonderful campaign speach. It was very touching. Now get out there and shake a few paws and lick a few puppies on the campaign trail. Please keep us posted on your campaign stops. You have bassethoundtown.com’s endorsement.
