Below is the list of basset hound rescues who signed up for the Lily Basset Bucks Give Away!
I am very excited about the money we raised as a town to help these wonderful organizations. Without volunteers, like the people who run these shelters where would our needy, homeless hounds be?
This economy has hit people hard and we are hearing more and more about the family pet that is taking the hit. It is really sad.
“Moving” has always been among the top reasons owners list for turning in their pets to a shelter. But this crisis is affecting even those who’d never dreamed of giving up their pets. Owners forced to sell their homes don’t have many options. They may find themselves sharing scarce space with friends or family, or dealing with landlords who’d rather accept the tenant who doesn’t have a cat or dog. Suddenly, there’s no room in their life anymore for a pet.”
So, thank you to all basset hound rescues! I hope to help many more in the future!

A huge thanks to all of you who contributed to Basset Bucks to help all of the rescues, including Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue. With the intake on overload and vet bills skyrocketing, every basset buck is very much appreciated!!! And the wonderful goodies included in the package that Cathy sent are extraordinary! God bless all of you for your generosity and to Cathy a special blessing for orchestrating this and other fundraising for the rescues.
