Help! Get me outta here! BREAKING NEWS UPDATE

July 25th, 2008 - 7:07 am KY Time

BREAKING NEWS – 10:16AM – THE SHELTER JUST OPENED AND OUR RUDY WAS A SECOND TIME STRAY FROM FT. THOMAS, KY – MY TOWN! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? A SECOND TIME STRAY! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, I HOPE HE DOES NOT GO BACK TO HIS SO-CALLED OWNERS. THE SHELTER CONTACTED THE OWNERS ON THE 23RD AND SO FAR THEY HAVE NOT COLLECTED HIM. BY COUNTY LAW HE WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION UNTIL TUESDAY. THE SHELTER HAS MY NAME AND NUMBER AND WILL UPDATE ME AS NEED BE. I AM GOING T CHECK ON HIM LATER TODAY AND TOMORROW.

I MADE A SECOND PHONE CALL TO OUR ANIMAL CONTROL OFFICER WHO PICKED RUDY UP FOR THE SECOND TIME. SHE SAID HE IS A VERY YOUNG, SHORT, LEAN BOY WHO IS NEUTERED. HE IS EXTREMELY SWEET . SHE SAID THAT ALL HE WANTS IS TO BE LOVED. POOR RUDY. MORE LATER……

Howllo Fellow Hound and Rudy Lovers: This guy was brought to my attention last night while surfing the net. His name is Rudy and he was dumped by his owner. Rudy is at the Campbell County Animal Shelter in Melbourne, KY. This shelter is about 15 minutes from my house. It is a High Kill shelter. I am going to call on him when the shelter opens at 10:00 this morning. I cannot foster. Chaps will not allow it. When I tested the waters with fostering it always turned out bad for someone. Mostly the foster. Chaps cannot tolerate any other dogs besides Emma in the house.

I sure wish I had a rescue money fund. I would pull him in a second and board him at my vets. They charge about 35.00 dollars a day. They would have to isolate hims.

So, if anyone is out there in this area that can foster this poor boy or adopt hims, here is his info:

RUDY’S INFO

Poor Rudy.

More about Rudy later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

OGM Cat….poor little guy!! What is this world coming to??? Can’t imagine someone just dumping him off like trash…instead of taking him to someplace safe. Wish I was closer, hope someone will come to his call….!!! Tommorrow I am picking up a 7 year Basset boy and transporting him half way to San Diego where Jerri (San Diego Basset Rescue) will meet me and get him into a foster home…hopefully a forever home soon. His owner had to surrender him
due to financial reasons. Times are tough!! Have a great weekend. Wish I could be there to take a walk in the park with our gangs!!!
    XOXO to all!!

Thanks for the update & pawsies crossed that we can get him adopted and not returned to his “owners”.

We’ll make sure his boarding expenses are covered while we find a furever or foster home for him.

Thanks for keeping an eye on him. And when you visit him please give hima smoochy kiss from me.

I miss Rudoph every day. I even have my mini-Rudolph sitting on my desk staring at me. NO WAY could I let another Rudy from the same shelter come to any harm!

Bless you, Cat, for keeping an eye on him and helping us get him out of harm’s way.

Thank you just doesn’t seem enough! I tell my kids that in this big old scary world, good things still happen each and every day. This is a great example of love, care and dedication.
You’re in our thoughts during this! Go Rudy!

God Bless you for all that you do!

That is fantastic Chris. You are unbelievable. Cat, you know how I feel about you. This little guy is so cute. I want him so bad. Those owners better not get him back. He needs a home he can be secure the rest of his life knowing nothing but love, Bless you all that are helping him.
