Momma knows……..

Howllo Fellow Hound and Emma Lovers:

I was just putting Emma to bed and came up with a poem. I was placing my hands over her eye sockets and I said:

Momma knows that you cannot see

Momma knows you have a disability

Momma will keep you safe and sound in this reality.

Momma knows she has a perfect girl – We both can see.

I had to tell you guys something about our Emma. Every time when I am feeding her she tilts her head up to me with the the eye she had sight in for about year after she lost sight in her first eye. It really hits me hard. I know she is trying to see me.

It hurts me to know she is trying so hard. I am so in tuned to her. That is why I wrote the poem tonight.

Our Emma is so lucky to have Chaps, me, and my family. I really hope that some day we can curtail blindness in bassets. You can count on Emma and I to make our mark!

    Her spirits are great. I am hoping that I have a webcam up soon to show all of her followers how good she is doing! Emma has some fans! LOL

    Emma has difficulties yes, but she has a joyeous spirit and a great capacity to love.

    Emma is such a sweet girl,She has shown others how you can overcome a disability and still live a wonderful life. A lot of people could learn a lesson from her. Love and Hugs Ken

    I love this! I agree so much with what everyone elses has posted, Emma is an insperation to so many. My oldest basset is 12 and does’nt see well at all. Cat you and your kids are a smile for me everyday, first thing when I wake up is I visit too see your site, and it always makes me smile and sometimes tears, you all are the best! ~ Love Megan and the hounds
