Aimee, a Chicago Basset Hound gets red shoes!

January 25th, 2008 - 5:05 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and shoe wearing hound lovers:

How about this pretty girl and her new red shoes, not to mention that totally pawsome coat?

Her Mom states, “We gave in and bought Aimee some shoes. They are absolutely required for the winters in Chicago, since everyone throws done salt like there’s no tomorrow. It’s sheer torture for Aimee to walk on. We tried various rubs and creams on her feet, but she can’t walk more than 12 feet before sticking her paws in the air like one of those desert geckos when the sand is too hot.”

Makes perfect sense to Chaps, Emma and I!

This hound looks so loved!

Attention all basset hound rescues!

January 21st, 2008 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Hound and link lovers:

The BHCA now has a page on it’s website for Basset Hound Rescue. Larry Little of Guardian Angel Basset Rescue, Inc., is the BHCA Rescue Committee Chair. You can submit your basset hound rescue to be included on this page pending his approval. Larry states,

“The links provided on this website are provided for information purposes only. Our inclusion of these links is not a recommendation and is not intended to replace your own independent evaluation of any rescue organization, group or individual. The BHCA is not responsible for the groups listed. If you are a basset rescue group, and you are supportive of our efforts to promote ethical practices in basset rescue, and you would like us to include your link on this website, please contact: larry@larrylittle.net “

This is a great opportunity to be listed on probably the internet’s most visited site for people interested in adopting a basset hound.

This is great news!

Basset Hound Club of America – News

January 21st, 2008 - 12:12 pm KY Time

Howllow Fellow Hound and BHCA lovers:

I was just reading the January/February issue of the Tally-Ho. From now on, all issues are going to be in color which will be great because the Tally-Ho has fantastic pictures of basset hounds from some of the top breeders in the world.

I have been a member since I rescued Natalie from the pound in 1994. Anything basset hound and I am all over it. At that time the publication, well….was not very good. So, after awhile I let my membership lapse. Then, I wanted to re-join and have been a member ever since.

I found the following motion very interesting. I was very pleased that the board has decided to donate to these grants that will better our beloved-ed breed. So many of us have hounds or have had hounds who have suffered through these types of medical issues. Anything to better our breed’s health is well worth the money spent!

Motion #07-08
I move, “That the BHCA partially support the following grant requests out of the AKC/CHF Basset Hound Donor Advised Fund”:

Motion: Brian Pechtold
Second: Gene McDonald

Motion passed and is resolved

I think it is great that our club will be apart of researching these very important heath issues. I will keep everyone updated.

THIS IS THE CORRECTED POSTING FOR THE ELDERLY LADY IN NEED!

Howllo Fellow Hound and Bonnie lovers!

MO129.7636192_1_x.jpg

MO129.7636192_2_x.jpg

Bonnie, age 11 (approx) is in a desperate situation. She is part of a trio that need homes. The other two have found their way into the loving care of:
House of Puddles and Sr. Hounds Abound.

These 3 were living together but due to a health emergency, the foster mother has with her daughter, they have to be placed urgently.

The reason Bonnie is harder to place is because she is an Alpha Female. She gets along great with the males in the home but she wants to rule the roost as the only gal! My goodness, give the girl what she wants! To be the only gal in the pack, or just an only hound!

Bonnie is currently in foster care with 4 the Hounds Basset Rescue Inc.

They are located in Reed Spring, MO

Here is her Petfinder page. Click here to see Bonnie and how sweet she is!

She is so cute, just look at her!

Can you love this older gal? I bet she will make you smile all day long.

Click on the Petfinder link right above for all of the contact information. Or e-mail me:
