Look at this picture I just found of the Mayor!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Hounds after bath lovers: Our dear friend Cindy and fellow BHT resident is giving baths to her hounds Jethro, Rugby, Ozzie and Harriet this weekend. Kudos to you. This is one of my most dreaded tasks to do. I think I would actually enjoy it if I had a ramp and an elevated tub set up. If I win the lottery tomorrow I am going to make my dreams come true!
Cindy you have to take pictures so we can see your set up. I put my kids in a concrete mixing pan which is situated over the drain in the basement, right under a facet with hot and cold water.
Here is a picture of the Mayor, with his feelings hurt, right after I got him out of the tub. He is actually about 5 pounds heaver from all of the water soaked into his fur. It took me five towels and over an hour to dry him.
Poor, poor Mayor…..
More poor Mayor stories later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
I think this photos shows that the Mayor is walking away in a huff or with disgust. He is definitely not pleased with his current situation.
Ha! No he’s not Maureen! Reminds me of Jethro. The mayor and Jethro make a lot of the same expressions. And it’s like you know exactly what they are thinking. Cat, your going to crack up at my set up. It’s a hose with a “shower” nozzle attached that runs from the house to the middle of the yard. Down here I can usually give them baths in the yard up until this month then they just don’t get another until it warms up again in April or May. If I HAVE to give someone a bath inside I bought a hand held shower that I can use in our inside tub but Ronald doesn’t like me giving the dogs baths inside cuz they shake all over the place and get everything wet. Doesn’t both me. It’s clean wet! Ha! But, I’ll try to remember to get some pictures of them and especially Jethro’s face cuz that tells the story.
Bailey’s hair sticks straight out until it is dry. She looks like a 60 pound wet puffball! Once she is dry I brush her and her hair calms down and she looks normal again.
We need pictures of that Debra! That’s gotta be hilarious.
That is such a cute picture of Chaps, it makes me want to hug him with a warm towel!
What the poor Mayor has to endure for beauty!!! Definitely not a happy camper!!!
Poor Mayor – I can smell wet basset from here! LOL
Oh, poor, poor Chaps. It is so hard being a basset hound. The Mayor needs a warming box.
He looks like buster after a bath LOL
Ok I have to say all my dogs love YES love their tub time. I don’t have a fancy tub I use the family bath tub. Yola Bean goes right in as soon as I say time for your bath honeybunny most times she is in the tub before I get there waiting for me. Now the other two Harry and Toshi are not quite that easy. A cookie has to be tossed into the tub and they jump right in. They get a good warm bath, rub down, butt check 🙂 and ear cleaning. Then a warm toweling. I do all three one right after the other and then they all run the basset 500 after the bath. I do have to close all the bedrooms because they will roll all over the beds. After they dry about half way I give a good brushing. Then they all sleep like they had the hardest day of thier lives. Too funny. Harry has to have a bath once a week because of his skin problems, but the girls only get a bath once a month. I am tired after I am done with my bad knees and back but it is so worth doing it myself so I can really go over them and it is way cheaper when you have three hounds. Toshi is smaller and a fast bath but Yola and Harry are big hounds not over weight just big hounds. I call Toshi my sport car and Yola and Harry are the trucks. LOL So that is bath day at Camp Toast.
Sandy – this is such a cute story! I cannot imagine Chaps jumping into a bath tub! LOL! However, he does jump on the couch. OK? Something is not quite right here in basset hound town! LOL!
Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma!
