Bath time at the Doyle house! Ahhh, I can smell wet hound from here!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Wet Hound Smell Lovers!
Basset Hound Town residents Jethro, Ozzie, Harriet, and Rugs all got a bath and we get to see pictures! I MAY never complain again about giving Chaps and Emma a bath again. However, I probably will! This blog is picture and fun heavy! Cindy, the Mom person, first attempts to do the dirty job in the bath tub.
Here she has the hose hooked up in the bassetabulous doggie room. All systems are progressing!
Now you can see a full view of this totally pawsome set up for her hounds. Look at those beds! Cindy, when I visit this is where I am sleeping, FYI! (minus the hose)
This picture cracks me up. She has to run the hose all the way to the tub. Quite the elaborate setup!
Check out her bath matt!
The hounds are getting a bit edgy and very nervous. Check out Jethro in the background. He is first on deck….
This is a hound that is not too happy and neither is Mommy with the set up!
Bathroom bath mission is scrubbed and back yard bath mission now in progress!
OK, who just got the scrub down? It was OZZIE! Where is OZZIE?
And away the hound goes! LOL
Harriet is now running for cover after her bath!
At least she can still be proud of her purple toe nails!
Now it’s time for Rugby! Rugby…..where are you?
Rugby get back here please!
Jethro dares his Mommy to even touch him. How could you Mommy?
Look at us, we are so pretty…but mad!
Harriet has the right idea! Just sleep it off!
Wow, job well done Cindy! I loved every minute of it. Most probably because I did not have to participate.
Ahhhhhhhhhhh….I love the smell of wet hound in the morning!
More loving wet hounds later…..Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
Cat, you made me LOL!!! I’m soooooo glad it’s over! We’re still smelling like the baby shampoo we bathed with but I don’t expect that to last much longer. Everyone has forgiven me except Jethro. I went to give him a good nite kiss last night and I got a growl and a curled lip. Needless to say, he didn’t get a kiss goodnite. He’s not too fond of bedtime anyway cuz Mommy sleeps in a different room than him. When we built this house we picked this floor plan because Ronald doesn’t want the dogs in the house at night or when we’re not home. He’ll let me cheat and leave them in when we’re only gone a few hours. Anyway, this room is supposed to be a study but I converted it in to a doggie room. They love it!
Wow! I’m exhausted. My heart is racing just reading this. Thanks for sharing, Cindy. And thanks for making us laugh, again, Cat.

The captions you wrote are just perfect. This is quite an elaborate setup. Before doing all of this, I would have just taken them to a groomer.
Oh how I wish I could afford to take them to the groomer. We go there about once every 4 to 6 weeks for nail clippings and she gives me a break and only charges me $5 a dog. Good deal huh? I’ve taken them when I only had 2 dogs. But grooming would be $40 a dog. I’m tight and would rather save the $160. Doing them outside is pretty easy and fast. I was trying to do them inside since I thought it was just a little too cool that day for outside baths. I probably won’t try that again! They just won’t get baths in the winter.
