PLAY IT FORWARD! Pink Gloves Dance to Jay Sean’s Down for Breast Cancer Awareness

November 30th, 2009 - 1:01 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Pink Glove Lovers! Special Thanks goes out to Sandy Gaston for sending me this totally awesome message and YouTube to go along with it.

Sandy was sent the video from Ann Somers who states,

“Our daughter-in-law, Emily (MacInnes) Somers, created, directed and choreographed this in Portland last week for her Medline glove division as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness.

This was all her idea to help promote their new pink gloves. I don’t know how she got so many employees, doctors and patients to participate, but it started to really catch on and they all had a lot of fun doing it.

When the video gets 1 million hits, Medline will be making a huge contribution to the hospital, as well as offering free mammograms for the community. Please check it out.

It’s an easy and great way to donate to a wonderful cause, and who hasn’t been touched by breast cancer?

Ann Somers ”

Yes, Ann, yes indeed!

“Our employees put together this video to generate breast cancer awareness throughout our hospital system. We had a ton of fun putting this together and hope it inspires others to join in the cause.” -Staff of the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Ore.

Hey Emma! I watched this last week. I thought it was so cool so I sent to my sister who also works at a hospital. I was disappointed that she thought it was cheesy. I thought it was great! I actually got this e-mail from someone (can’t remember their name) and the to and from was the same person. Really weird. At first I was kind of scared to watch it thinking it was a virus but then took the chance and watched it. When I watched it there was well over 300,000 that had already watched. I have to say that I think it’s a GREAT video!

Oh, I just love this idea. The young lady who came up with the idea works for the company who makes the pink gloves. I just think it was so cool that all of the employees came together and had some fun. The normally stiff doctors are dancing and everyone is happy helping a cause that helps victims that are in such sorrow. Kudos to everyone involved. I was so impressed. I am still singing that song.
