I bought a new quilt today for the hound bed!
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and New Quilt Lovers….Today, Grandma and I went to Kohls. They were having a sale on bedding. I bought a new quilt for the hound bed. I found a really cool one that I love! So, I wanted to take a picture of the kids on their new quilt! But there was one prob! They would not get on the new quilt! Look at Emma, she can smell that new quilt. See howl she is looking in that direction?
They acted like it was to be feared. It is really pretty. I cannot wait to show it to the residents. I picked it out to go with their pretty coats! Hum….
Let’s see what happens later……
I might need to go back to the old blanket if there is a riot.
More hoping the new quilt works later. I just love it! Cat only for now!
Cat, try washing it first. That’ll get some smells that they are used to on it.
Chaps and Emma are rich folk. Our hounds get hand me downs!
Remember, Emma was born with a silver spoon in her paw! LOL! I am going to toss it in the wash machine right now! Thanks for that tip!

Actually one of the main reasons I bought it was because Grandma thought that a quilt would shed the hairs better than a Martha Stewart blanket that seems to hold the hair in. I had to agree with her. Emma has been suffering so bad this season.
We will see!

I think she’s right too. I use sheets in the summer and comforters in the winter on their beds. Comforter on the pallet in the living room all year around. When I pick up the sheets or comforters you can see the hair fall off. A lot stays in I’m sure but I’d say most will fall off. Then you can sweep or vacuum it all up and out. We also put the beds outside to air out at least every other week. That really helps. But the weather has to be good.
I think the hounds are suspicious of anything new, they like things friendly and comfortable.
