The Magnificent Magnolia
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Magnificent Magnolia Lovers! Well, we are all one of those!
About 10 years ago Grandpa planted a Magnolia Tree in our back yard. It struggled for years. Even though there are glorious Magnolia trees in our town this little guy fought tooth and nail to make it. Here are Chloe and Lily smelling the little fellow the day Grandpa planted it.
We waited for years and years for our first bloom. That happened a few years ago. It is so funny, we called each other and say, “look, look we have a bloom!” We would all get out our binoculars and praise each bloom. It was so funny.
Now look at Mr. Magnificent!
See that bloom, right in the middle? Wait a second, you don’t need your binoculars I went up to photograph it for you.
That bee landed on the top of the bloom just for us! I told Mr. Bee! You better enjoy it while you can because this bloom is for Grandma from Chaps and Emma in honor of the guy who planted the tree! Mr. Bee was OK with it.
Chaps was watching me and no doubt worrying.
“Mommy, what are you doing? Shouldn’t you be inside, in the AC with me?”
“Well, I better check it out.”
Then I found the perfect bowl for our gift!
The perfect bowl for the perfect memory.
Emma was too tired to sneak upstairs and leave their Father’s Day memory gift!
As you can imagine, she loved it. I guess, the bloom was really a gift from Grandpa to us. Now that’s the best present ever!

What a perfect gift and a beautiful memory!!
That bloom is perfect it was almost a shame to pick it, but that bloom in the bowl is so simple and delicate looking. It should be appreciated.
Cat, your story gave me chills, and brought a tear–your dad is never far away, of that I am sure:)
