Howllo Fellow Basset Hound Town and Garden Lovers! Well, here in bassethoundtown the weather has been what some would consider ideal for tomatoes. It has been hot and steamy! With the help of our tomato consultant and BHT resident, Cindy Doyle, Grandma and I are able to move towards our first success with a tomato plant! YES!

Here we have the lovely garden model, Emma, behind the soon to be juicy tomato plant!

And now for a look at the low hanging fruit!

Chaps is thinking, “I can smell the bacon now!”

I also planted a hydrangea next to the tomato barrel.

This is exactly where Grandpa planted a hydrangea about 10 years ago and it thrived with stunning beauty…..until……..Emma started eating it. Grandpa took it out so she would not get sick. Hydrangeas can make dogs very sick if they eat them. Grandpa took a few of his beloved plants out for her.

I had a little fence installed so I can get the garden back to howl Grandpa envisioned it and little miss garden model cannot get to them.

More garden tours later….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma

I am soooooo very jealous! My tomato plants look like a stick plant compared to yours. Our summer has just been so brutely hot and dry and these plants want that acid rain. I water them every day with tap water but they don’t like that as much as rain water. And the leaves are just burning and turning brown. We finally got a 20 minute downpour yesterday morning but it soaked right up and we need much more. Oh well. I’m so very excited that you’ve got such a beautiful tomato plant! You and Grandma did great! Can’t wait to hear how they taste!

It is so wonderful that you and your father made every effort to make your beautiful garden Basset Friendly. I think Chaps and Our Emma would be a beautiful enhancement to any garden or landscape.
