Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and No Place Like Home Lovers……

Well, we are certainly one of those. Yesterday we took our road trip and had fun but today we took the kids on an all day trip just 5 minutes way from home. OMG! It was sooooooo much more fun! We had another pick day of the summer so Grandma, the kids and I took full advantage of it. Since I own my company I can work on the Holiday when it is hot and the AC is keeping us all comfy inside! But NOT TODAY!

WE WENT TO THE PURPLE PEOPLE BRIDGE!

It was stunningly spectacular! The air was crisp, the breeze was like a lovely blanket and the bridge, only 5 minutes from our home was the place to be today!

I wanted to show my dear readers the new sky scraper, Tiara Tower, that is going up in Cincinnati. It will be the tallest on the skyline! They are placing a giant tiara, designed after one of Princess Diana’s, on top of the scraper! You can click on the link, then click on fly over animation! Kind of cool considering Cincinnati is called the Queen City!

Then something else kind of cool happened! Two area Fire Fighting Departments were on the Purple People Bridge today learning howl to rescue via repelling on a bridge! It was totally pawsome! I did not get actual pictures of the exercise but here are some of the Firefighters!

IMG_7583

From America’s Finest to the Mayor licking the toes of babies! Howl can life get better?

IMG_7631

You would not have believed howl hard this little kid was laughing. It was amazing. Even some of the big strong Fire Fighters were enjoying a chuckle!

It was incredible. If I heard it once, I heard it about 50 times, “Those are gorgeous, pretty, fine, nice, wonderful, handsome, looking hounds.” People jogging, riding bikes, walking, and everything in between. Everyone seemed so happy today, including us!

Then, Grandma and I picked up lunch and french fries for the kids and went to the Cincinnati side to explore their park areas!

IMG_7588

I actually gave about 4 of my dog safety lessons today. It was so much fun. We had kids coming towards us right and left. We felt like we were with celebrities! This was our lunch view!

IMG_7592

Then we walked over to the shaded path down under the Purple People Bridge! So Serene!

Then the path went down a bit futher!

Grandma is looking across the river to Ft. Thomas! That is howl close we live to this idyllic spot!

Look who else thinks this spot is idyllic!!!!!!

Emma and this little boy do! Who made who’s day? Probably a toss up for this young passer by and our Emma!

big fun was had by all it looks like!

pray tell…why is it called the purple people bridge?

i took a field trip around a local park last week & explored “longstreet farm” one of the original farms in our county..and had many nice encounters with the animal residents there…pix are on my facebook page..it was nice to get out & explore..my guys had to stay home…

saturday tho we are helping aunt suzanne out at a farmers market…buster will be “singing & performing his schitck routine” to help raise moola…so you know we will all know the answer to the eternal questions…is timmy in the well? is timmy a moron? is buster happy…etc

for a sneak peek of the routine check out the link thing below….

…he loves doing this & can do it for hours & days at a stretch…& to a multitude of questions for valentines day, birthdays etc…plus i love working the crowd too…it will be sally’s first official fund raiser so i we’ll have to get her in the routine somehow.

What a cool day you had! It is absolutely beautiful in that area. That is too funny about Chaps licking that kids toes! I bet it tickled. I’m so glad to see you and Grandma getting out and doing things and enjoying each other with the hounds. How wonderful is that?!

As always, Chaps and Emma look stunning. Oh, and you and Grandma do too.

You always have the best time exploring your area! It’s funny how we tend to overlook wonderful spots so close to home. I bet everyone has at least one kewl place nearby that they never knew existed or thought of visiting!…The Mayor and Emma are sterling amBASSadors, too:)

Howl I envy you. I can’t imagine anyone not admiring your hounds, and what wonderful day for everyone. I bet the Mayor and Our Emma were exhausted from all the attention.

I’ve been on that bridge! Unfortunately, I didn’t know about BHT at the time. 🙁

Our small town is celebrating 150th birthday this weekend. I am judging a parade tonight (unfortunatly Hannah and the dogs can’t participate because I’m a judge), but Hannah will be carrying a sign and keeping a group of kids straight.

You know what is so wonderful about BHT besides Cat, Grandma, The Mayor and Emmers. It is the way you show us how precious these simple pleasures of life are. They are simple but you make them so exciting and they are through your eyes. Thankyou for sharing these precious and exciting things in life.
