In memory of a sweet, darling little girl, Paige Alessandro….

August 10th, 2010 - 7:07 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and a sweet, darling little girl named Paige Alessandro lovers….Well, we are sure one of those in Basset Hound Town. Paige’s Grandma, Judy is a resident of basset hound town and a dear friend of mine. Recently, the unimaginable happened. Little, sweet, dear, darling Paige was taken from her family way too young. I asked Judy to write a little something for all of us to know this special little girl a bit better. Her memory will be cherished forever…

Grandma Judy states,

“Hi – here are some pictures I picked out that you might want to use.

As some of the bassethoundtown resident already know our family suffered a tremendous loss this Spring. One of our grandaughters 6 year old Paige passed away rather suddenly on May 18, 2010. This has been the hardest thing our family has ever had to go through. Paige was just finishing kindergarten and excited about moving to a new house. She became ill on Thursday May 13, was admitted to Cincinnati Childrens on Sunday and despite heroic efforts by the doctors Paige sufferd a massive brain bleed and passed away in the arms of her loving parents Steve and Heather on Tuesday afternoon. Paige has two sisters 8 year old Gracie and soon to be 5 year old Haley.

Paige was an adorable little girl. She was the life of a party and her mother said it very well, “Paige was the pitter patter of our family”. Paige was a little girl that loved everyone elses birthday party as much as her own. She was never grumpy or unhappy – she was always trying to be sure that everone else was happy. She touched so many lives in her 6 short years on earth and she is truly missed by all. Paige loved the UK Wildcats – the school her daddy (my son Steve) graduated from – she never missed watching a game with him. She enjoyed riding her horse DeeDee so much – something she did every week. Paige always loved sleepovers and get-togethers with her cousins that love and miss her so much.

We are so fortunate to have gone on a big family vacation last year to the Outer Banks, NC. We have many memories from the days spent on the beach. We were so blessed to have spent Mothers Day this year with Grace, Paige and Haley at their new home. This was one week before she got sick and the last time we saw her able to play. Our memories will last a lifetime if we can get over the grief that we are all experiencing now. God chose this angel to come home a little too soon. Even though life goes on – it will NEVER be the same without our little Paige. Say some prayers for her grieving family. Love you all, Judy and Rick.”

End of this beautiful blog from Judy….

Since the passing of dear little, darling Paige I have been gathering pink rocks from my garden for Paige. Pink was her favorite and signature color! The kids, Grandma and I wanted to place them at the base of the tree that Judy had planted for her Dad back in the park where we always walk the kids.

This was kind of a rock sculpture I designed. The 5 rocks are the family. Mom and Dad will always have a chip out of their soul but they must bare the burden to make their other daughters whole. The little pink Paige rock is with Judy’s Daddy.

We enjoy spending time at Mr. Kuyper’s tree! Now we will enjoy it even more.

We visit it often.

a star is shining brightly down upon us…and there is much joy at the buffet as a child runs amongst the dogs spilling food and laughter at the same time.

We are so sorry to hear about Paige. She is the laughter in the clouds and the sun shining from above. Having a daughter much older than Paige, I can’t think of not seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter. My heart and prayers go to you Steve and Heather (my daughters name). May God comfort your family in this terrible time.

What a beautiful memorial. You did a great job Cat.

Judy, I think of your family often. I don’t have any children but they say the worse thing in life is losing a child. I cannot imagine what your family is going through. Our prayers are with you is this very hard time.

This is so tragic. In just six years, Paige made the world a better and brighter place to live in. Paige is certainly a beautiful girl full of fun with a dash of mischief.
