how could anyone resist that face? What a handsome Mayor!

I’m curious about the little statue behind Chaps. Is that a hound in shorts doing his exercises?

OM is that not the cutest little garden statue? Wow, that should be a blog in itself. I bought that little exercise guy at the Greenbrier Resort in VA about 12 years ago. There is a string of craft shops up on a hill behind the resort that is so quaint and cute. It is called the Colony Gallery. I walked into a shop and spotted that little concrete basset and fell in love. I have never seen another one. Your comment just reminded me that I want to call the Colony Gallery and see if I can walk the kids up there when we go to VMI. The Greenbrier is about an hour away and were are going to stop there for lunch.

The first time I stayed at the Greenbrier I took the Amtrack. I went first class all the way and booked a sleeper car. Thank Dog I did. Our train broke down in the hollars of VA and we were stuck for 7 hours. It was a nightmare, but I will never forget it. Thank goodness I like spending time with myself. I have a thick Vanity Fair and a box of wine. I had my own party!

No one would tell us what was going on so I called Amtrack on my cell and they told us our engine quit. OK?????

I will never forget that hovel right outside of my window. Never.

I am going to call the Colony right now…..hang on!

YIPPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEE! The hounds are more than welcome up in the Art Colony! Wonder if I will see that little statue again?

    I am sooooo excited!

Thanks for asking about my little weight lifter OM!

sometimes the trick is to just wander around with the dogs..especially bassets…i find it is the key to getting you into places you might never get into without them…plus you never know what else you might find..

in nh i visit a little sandwich shop..& i always ask to buy 1 roast beef one for the dogs…& never fail the owner always gives me at least 1 pound of prime scraps for the dogs for free…& if i stop in every day i will get the same for them regardless of if i buy lunch or not.

dogs just open doors…& it seems bassets tend to open more…

I totally agree Lois. We are going to do that! I hope I can drag out the sympathy card for Emma and get both her and the Mayor into spots that might be off limits. I am a bit more brave but Grandma is more, well, not willing to risk stuff like that. Since she is the boss, I must make her think it is OK! hehehe!

It is going to be so much fun on our trip!
