OMD! Today our excursion was CRAZY!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and excursion lovers…

Today we set out for a fun time on another basset hound town excursion.

It was so overwhelming. It kind of made us feel like we were with pop stars. I made the bad decision to go to some popular areas. The kids were swarmed from the time I parked until we decided to get them back in the car. It was one of the best days we have had, weather wise, in ages so everyone and their brother was out.

It was crazy! Totally crazy! Most of the folks that swarmed us had never seen a basset hound????? That really was CRAZY!

Don’t get me wrong, I love meeting and greeting but today was just like crowd control.

People riding bikes and jogging were even stopping. I had nuns telling me long stories of hounds in their past. Which I loved but when they were done the next group stepped up!

He is a pretty boy!

It was crazy. We could not make it 2 feet without folks rushing towards us.

We actually had to turn around and get back in the car.

Butt I think the real draw was our blind Emma! Everyone wanted to hear her story!

After about 2 hours and making it 2 feet we decided to high tail it out of there!

One thing is for sure. People take a lot of time out of their day to meet a couple of good looking hounds. Emma is the bonus. I give a few talks about seeing with your heart.

I think a fair amount of folks went on their way today thinking about howl happy Emma is.

More loving Professor Emma and Chancellor Chaps later! Cat

I forgot to say, we went to Petsmart to get a new bed for the BHV and they were having a huge adoption event. Chaps is not in to that at all! So, we could not go into Petsmart. The day was so strange! I did get out to look at the hounds and I must say there was some good looking hounds. Not bassets but some mixes I was cracking up over. I honed in on a few families and sung the praises of the mixes. I had a good time! I think I helped getting one handsome hound adopted. It was a bassedor! hehehe

Doesn’t the town provide Chaps and Emma with a security detail?

Candy! We sure wished we had one! I looked over at Grandma and she looked over whelmed! I knew I had to get her out of there. It was just an odd and crazy day. The love was rushing towards us. It was nice, but a bit CRAZY! I am so proud of the kids. They did so much better than us. I think we were hungry! We wanted to grab a sandwich and enjoy the OH HO River! hehehe

Sounds like a wild and crazy day – just wait until we all get together for our bassetfabulous walk with all of the hounds in our town. Now think about the heads that will turn then!!! I cannot wait for the walk.

see you need to have my herd with you…they are media & attention whores…they will be glad to deflect any attention away from your gang.

that was actually one of my concerns when looking for coop’s replacement…the new puppy had to be able to handle going to events & crowds…since we do so many events & such…

sally it turns out is perfect..she loves the attention but doesn’t go crazy over it…very friendly if someone comes to see her but otherwise is content to sit & lounge around as long as she is with us.

petsmart is hard on dogs…(& their peeps)…i can’t do it with buster..he overloads on all the food smells & becomes a wildman…trying ti chew his way into expensive bones, food etc.& then defend the packages….sort of like a “it’s MINE ALL MINE!” sally walks around her eyes as big as plates. lowla just smiles & looks for people to pet her. all of this is better than coop who would park himself in front of the hamsters & drool at them….with casey it ws the birds.

anyway..you need a detail..you know where to find one!

Well, that’s pretty cool that everyone was wanting to check out and pet our royalty. But I can understand the stress. Chaps sounds like Jethro and there are times when I can’t trust him. Luckily, I watch him closely and I know when he’s aggravated and have avoided problems.

So glad you had a semi good time but I wish it weren’t so hectic. Oh well. There’s always next time!

I am not surprised that you were mobbed. Chaps and Emma are so inviting and beautiful. I am sure they loved the attention.

I hope you told them about your website, I am sure they would want to keep up with all the news.
