For the 1st time in 14 years we had to flee to the basement for a tornado warning:/
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and taking cover lovers.
I love the fact that we had 6 minutes to get us and the kids to the basement. We has some serious weather coming our way and tornadoes were ripe for the popping. The sirens went off and we almost lost power. Of course I took my beloved lap top with me so we could track the warnings.
The sky turned black and the hail started. That really scared Emma and she straddled the Mayor for protection.
There was no thunder or lighting so the Mayor was very comfortable and relaxed with his storm pill. Here is now….
Normally he would be climbing and crying. Good Boy. I am just glad he can relax.
More hoping the fleeing is over….Love, Cat, Chaps and Emma
We had heavy rains this morning and a possible tornado touchdown about 20 miles from my house. The weather has cleared up but we are still experiencing high winds-possible hurricane force winds until 7:00 PM Wed. nite.
Stay safe everyone.!
They closed O’Hare Airport here due to high winds. I hope everyone is doing well.
Wow. I’m way down south and we’re just HOT and muggy! I guess we’re lucky. Glad to hear everyone is safe. Stay that way!
Just got our power back after 3.5 hours. We are getting consistent gusts to over 60 mph. The national weather service is reporting a 71mph gust on the Lake Michigan shore not to far from us. Chances are we will lose power again before this is over in about 24 hours. It’s dark now and that makes the wind even scarier. Temp is 52 and our windchill is 42 degrees.
I would really like it if we wouldn’t lose our power again.
Please let us know you are OK, Cat, Chaps, Emma and Grandma!! We were out on my neighbor’s patio tonight with a mild breeze blowing having cocktails tonight, unseasonably balmy in southeastern PA…As the Cowardly Lion said “Unusual weather we’re havin’, ain’t it?”…
