What are all the residents doing for Thanksgiving?

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and big meal lovers……

I was wondering what all the residents are doing for Thanksgiving. Grandma and I are going to a really nice buffet at a place called The Phoenix. It is so old Cincinnati.

I am so excited to do Thanksgiving out. I don’t love being in the kitchen. I do hate doing dishes. So, this is a WIN, WIN! For me but not for the kids!

Did I mention, no left overs????

Poor kids. I wonder if McDonald’s is open tomorrow?

not much here..lounging about…if it is nice we shall do a hike..otherwise its football, the dog show & then a yummy dinner of chicken cutlets…just not in the big buird mode this year..i usually cook a roaster chicken but it’s not calling me so cutlets…& green bean casserole & stuffin’ with apples, chestnuts & mushrooms.

of course a lema family tradition is that pie (chocolate cream of course) get eaten first before the main course..because it’s a little known fact the pligrams fled england because they were not allowed to have chocolate cream pie with their dinner! (always pumpkin & apple) the horror! so they came here & as a celebration they always had chocolate cream pie with reddi whip BEFORE their dinner to honor their safe passage & their new found freedom.

that is my story & i am sticking to it.

happy turkey day one & all.

this is just a cool quote i found…i like it…
thanksgiving is creations birthday party…kind of a nice thought…

“Wake up now, look alive, for here is a day off work just to praise Creation: the turkey, the squash, and the corn, these things that ate and drank sunshine, grass, mud, and rain, and then in the shortening days laid down their lives for our welfare and onward resolve. There’s the miracle for you, the absolute sacrifice that still holds back seed: a germ of promise to do the whole thing again, another time. . . Thanksgiving is Creation’s birthday party. Praise harvest, a pause and sigh on the breath of immortality.”

We are going to the Thanksgiving Day race to watch Jen (Kevin’s wife) run. Then back to the kitchen (which I have been in all day) to make the turkey and finish up little things. I cannot complain because I just got ALL new stainless appliances and now have a stove that really does work. Four of my kids and their families are coming with the exception of Steve and his family as they are boycotting Thanksgiving this year. Maybe things will be better next year. My brother and cousin are also coming. Hope all in basset hound town have a safe Thanksgiving day and be sure to give the hounds a bite or two.

Macy’s TG day parade is on and nary a dish in sight!

The only problem, if you can believe this, we are supposed to get some thunderstorms later today.

    WT????

No rain for what seems decades and thunderstorms in BHT today? Great….

    I think I would rather have dishes….
