Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and not loving fireworks lovers….Well, we here at bassethoundtown headquarters do not like fireworks. For the next week or so, this is where the Mayor will be for several hours every night.

The Mayor is such a brave boy. I just hate this for him.

We love you Chaps, be brave! Just think of it as quality time in the “Man cave.”

I feel bad for Chaps during the fireworks season. Our first basset Nikki had seizures during this season. He was on medication for weeks every summer. There were a lot of fireworks in basset hound town tonight but I must say that the Hot Wax Concert and fireworks at Tower Park were awesome ! I am sure Chaps heard them.

Yes we did Judy – the fireworks were extra loud tonight and extra long. He is still panting in his cage. I am so glad you guys had fun. I bet it was a blast…..LOL

Man Cave! I love it! Poor Chaps. We have burn bans all around us and fireworks are banned except in 2 places where the professionals will be having a show. I sure hope people abide by this restriction cuz the hot and dry here right now is very, very scary. Just flicking cigarettes out of the vehicles while driving is causing fires in the grass along the roadway.

Fireworks are only legal as professional shows in the cities here, so we only had one night to contend with. I was worried for Sherman, but he seemed more curious about the racket than anything else.

Have you tried a little lavender aromatherapy for your sweet boy? You might be successful in getting him to relax a bit more.

I have some lavender growing by my front door. I am going to try that! I will rub a little behind his ears. Thanks for that suggestion!
