Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Pet2Vets Lovers…..
Well, I really learned a lot researching this blog posting and it is a pleasure to share my findings with the residents. Some of you may know all about this program, but I sure didn’t. It is called Pets2Vets.
Pretty powerful stuff.
Dogs are here for us and there for us.
I wanted to share some of the pictures I found last night with the residents. As I was looking at so many pictures I could not help but get choked up. Chaps was in a deep sleep next to me but he woke up when I started sniffling and became very concerned. Amazing.

I wonder if there is any way to send some treats to these pets?
Great photos and story Cat … I had not heard of this program before. Regarding the photos, were there any captions or stories behind them? I’m just wondering what happened to the little white pup in the soldier’s pack … too little to take care of himself, especially in a war zone.
Hi OM – The photos were on another site regarding vets and dogs. Some of these dogs are rescued by the soldiers and brought into the units as part of the family. Hopefully, we can learn more about everyone involved.

This is a very nice tribute Cat! I have not done a Veterans Day post because, to be honest, I am at a loss for words when it comes to veterans (human or animal). All I feel I can say is thank you to all of those that sacrifice. Thank you for sharing this amazing website. My brother is a Captain in the USMC, father was in the Air Force, and my brother in low is in the Army.
Thank you RHandM – I would like to say thank you to your Brother, Father and other Brother for all they do for our country. I am very proud of them. Thank you for sharing this with all of the residents.
