Grandma and I are heading to the bathroom “spa” with the Mayor!

July 7th, 2012 - 4:04 pm KY Time

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and spa bathroom lovers.  Our Mayor needs some tender loving care so we are going to give him a sponge bath and spa treatment.   Also, he had a few cysts burst over the past several weeks which need to be checked on.  I think they popped due to stress.  One of them he has had for about 8 years.  One of those really deep ones that never change.  Well, it did right before Emma died.  Anyway, I took him to the vet and it looks pretty good now.  I guess we all show stress in different ways.

Here we are entering the “spa”…..

Do you think he can get any closer to the door?

See the bathtub behind me?  I dream of being able to lift him into that tub.

Remember the guy who does all of my yard work?  His name is Wade.  He said that when he comes over to work he could lift him into the tub, then work outside, then come back in and lift him out for me.  I think I am going to do that this week or next week at the latest.  I think the Mayor needs a good warm soak.

“Say what?”

Look howl handsome.  Well, I didn’t mean to wake him up but I wanted this picture after his sponge bath.

If I win the lottery I am going to get one of those tubs you see on TV for the elderly.  The kind where you open that little door and just walk in and sit on that bench.  Wouldn’t that be great for the Mayor?  I wonder if he would go in?

More dreaming of tubs for the elderly later…Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB

Dear Cat, loveable Chaps and Grandma,
Chaps looks so handsome and cute; and yes, it will make him feel better to get this extra treatment and poor guy I am sure he misses little Emma very much as she was the apple of his eyes! Hope all this cysts will heal up nicely and hopefully the stress will in time disappear. Take care of this little guy and kisses and belly rubs to him; we love you ALL!

ah..i did baths here on july 4. it was hot, i was bored. what can i say… lowla throws herself into the tub..& then won’t get out! she spent a good 15 -20 minutes just soaking & lounging. bubbles & all. then she waits to get toweled off & sits on the couch all smiles.

    same for buster.

sally..well she retreated to under the bed. not so much excitement. she still hasn’t had her spa day. soon tho.

i think if you are calm & slow & make the bathroom nice..they enjoy it..at least all of mine too…i am sure that stress caused his cysts to burst…so a good spa day was needed. now one for you too!

Oh, how the Mayor enjoyed the one on one Mommy attention! I am certain that the weather has contributed to the problems with his cysts as well. Oooohhh…one of those walk in tubs would be wonderful!!!!!! With one of those hand held shower sprayers…oh, YES!!!!!!! xoxo

Poor Chaps! He deserves all the pampering that you can give him. I am sure that he is very confused and missing Emma so much. I am sure a bath and soak would feel really good to him. I can come over and I am sure the two of us can get one hound in the tub for a soak. You could bring him here and we can shower him in our basement walk in shower with hand held nozzle. I am open to whatever works for you. Take care of the boy!!

Judy – you are so sweet. Thanks so much for the offer. I will be in touch. Our boy is kind of stinky!

I think Bassets don’t understand why humans don’t appreciate their houndie smell.

Slinky hates baths, she howls, whines, and cries to the point that my neighbors have knocked on the door with deep concern that something is the matter with Slinky.
