Sometimes it the little things in life….(Like a favorite rug;)

Howllo Fellow basset hound and little thing lovers…

Today, I wanted to wash Chaps favorite rugs.  Chaps has big comfy beds all over the house but he picks plush rugs to lay on.  I have watched him over the last year since he has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia.   He has a way of laying with his hip pressed up upon the couch where I have the rugs for him.

He was not happy about wash day…

Grandma and I worked as hard and fast as we could to get things back to normal.

Thank you Grandma….

Here is the Mayor giving Mommy the stink eye.

“I will forgive but I will never forget!”

All kidding aside, finding out the most comfortable place and position for the Mayor is a blessing.  I spent so much time trying to coax him into the comfortable beds but it was not comfortable for himz.

He does like the big bed for all night sleeping.  It is very firm and I make sure he has a place to press his hip up against….me!

Oh the things we do for the love of a hound….

More loving the little comfortable things in life later (and clean rugs)….Cat, Chaps and Emma ATB who used to be his hip buddy.

Rug washing day around here became so hard on Nell especially that I bought duplicates so they didn’t have to go without their favorites.

Slinky sleeps with me. I brought her in my bed during a storm, and since that night good weather or bad, my bed has become her bed as well!

But the benefit of a warm Basset on a cold night is better than any blanket or comforter.

Wash day isn’t very popular at my house either. And trying to have a place for all 4 to lay until it all gets done is a challenge. So, I change the fouton in the computer room first while they are laying on the pallet in the living room. They also like the carpet in the computer room so they all have enough room to lay around in there until we’re done. Yeah, what we won’t do for our hounds!
