Granny Smith, a new Kong and Daisy Lynn!

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Granny Smith Lovers…OMDawg…I love Granny Smith Apples.  I was having one with my breakfast this morning and Daisy Lynn wanted a bite.  Can hounds have apples?  Who better to ask than my boyfriend, Google….

Yes, dogs can have apples with no problem.  A taste of apple a day keeps the vet away!

Google suggested that I put a few small pieces in a Kong.  Guess what?  I bought her a Kong that I had not given her yet.   Let’s give it a whirl.

Sounds like fun!

This kept her busy for about 20 minutes…

She enjoyed her Granny Smith slice and her new puppy Kong…

But wait a second…I started to wonder if these rubber Kongs were safe.  Did they have that awful BPA in them or other chemicals?

So back to boyfriend Google.  It was strange.  I could not find the answer which is very odd.  So, I called Kong.  The answer is “no”.  Kongs are made to the strict regulations that human Children’s toys are made to.  The customer service rep was awesome and I made a suggestion to her.  Add this fantastic information to your website.  Concerned parents want to know these things are safe.

More loving safe toys and Granny Smith later….Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB) laying under an apple tree;)

20 minutes? That’s good! I bet you do that more often. Ha! Jethro loves apples. I know that onions, garlic and avacado aren’t good for dogs. Too bad that avacado’s aren’t good for them because before I knew that I’d give Jethro a sliver of one every once in a while or let him lick my hand after I peeled one. He absolutely loves avacado. But when I found out it wasn’t good for him I stopped giving it to him. Now when I fix guacamole he sits next to me and cries the whole time. Poor boy.

Cat, you are such a conscientious caregiver, and it seems that our Mayor Daisy is very easy to please.
