The Yellow Dog Project…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and The Yellow Dog Project Lovers….

My guess is you have not heard of The Yellow Dog Project yet so let me share this wonderful idea that I think is going to take hold.

Postcard6x4-TYDP_1

Please pass the word to those you meet along the way.  Educate others and this will catch on.  I was actually in the process of placing Yellow Ribbons on the late Mayor’s leashes at the time of his passing.  I was getting us ready for spring.

ChaptheGreat

The Mayor, as grand and glorious as he was did not care for other dogs, except for our very own Emma.  He could be grouchy at times while on walks and this yellow ribbon would have been perfect for him and an education for others.

More missing the old grouch later…Cat, Daisy Lynn, (Chaps and Emma ATB knowing there  is no need for yellow ribbons;)

speaking of the “old grouch” …. while I was in Hannah’s classroom yesterday she reminded me that Mayor Chaps always keeps an eye on her at school and wondered if he is still keeping an eye on Emma and Nell too.

The yellow dog project is a great idea – it will take a large marketing campaign for people to know what it means.

Oh, OneMom please tell Hannah that Chaps is very busy with Emma and Nell. Nell particularly likes to sleep every night next to Emma. Emma loves to be extra warm and Nell has all that glorious fun fur. Chaps loves watching over all of the residents of bassethoundtown. He said to keep making those daily wishes….Love you

Nell was always like her own little furnace, so I’m sure that Emma is enjoying that snuggling at the bridge. It does help Hannah to think of Chaps watching over Nell and Emma.

All of mine need a yellow ribbon. Jethro is a grouch very much like our late Mayor Chaps. Ozzie doesn’t like dogs that are bigger than him, and Harriet was very mistreated so she doesn’t trust people and for that reason, I can’t trust her around strangers. What a great idea. They should put one of those signs up at all dog parks. I hope it catches on.

I tell most dog walkers we meet about the yellow ribbon. Sometimes word of mouth is pretty far reaching. On a totally different subject – I was at petsmart yesterday and of course you have to navigate the layout all the while looking for bleeping pit bulls. That is one of the major reasons we don’t go to dog parks. Anyway, sure enough, this woman tattooed from head to toe rushes over to see Daisy Lynn with her killing machine. They should not be allowed in public places and if so they should be muzzled. Some 300 pound guy was in there with his massive white pitt bull that was growling at all of the dogs as they walked by. What a hassle. If he would have let that dog loose it would have killed another dog. Basset were bred to hunt rabbits and pitt bulls were bred to fight in a pitt to the death. You can’t love that out of them. More ranting and raving later….Cat, trying to keep Daisy Lynn out of harms way….

That is so rude of people to bring those type dogs to public places. They should be kicked out. There’s usually a sign somewhere that says friendly dogs only. Of course, I’m sure they ignore those signs and don’t have any respect for others.

    This is an excellent idea.

I still find it difficult to believe about Chaps, our late Mayor. Chaps seemed like such an amiable fellow. It’s hard to believe he didn’t like other dogs.
