Jethro – bassethoundtown resident had some major dental work today.
11/26/13 JETHRO UPDATE:)))))
This morning Cindy made sure he was tucked in for a long nap before she left for work.
This is a really cool hound room. Spotless and clean as a pin! They have a dog door and their very own personal air conditioner.
Then when Mommy got home himz ate like a young starving pup….
What a great sight to see. Thanks for sharing Cindy. I was thrilled with my pupdates!
More loving healing drool later…

Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Jethro Lovers…Himz had some major dental work done today and now is resting at home.
He is an old guy now and needs some healing thoughts directed his way.
His Mom, Cindy has him comfortable now.
Ozzie and Harriet are probably worried.
Here is Jethro as a baby…
Get well soon darling, adorable and grumpy Jethro….
We love you…
More keeping the residents updated later…Cat, Daisy Lynn (Chaps and Emma ATB sending healing rainbow drool…)
Slobber and drool sent from Bumper and Abby in hopes for a speedy recovery.
Awwwww, poor Jethro. One big lovable grump. Cindy – please give Jethro an extra hug from Hannah and I. We hope he recovers quickly from the dental work. Sophie doesn’t drool much, but Mabel has plenty so we’re sending Pyrenees drool in hopes that Jethro feels better soon.
I just got in here and realized you did a Get Well post for my precious grumpy boy. Thanks so much Cat! I just love the classic “stepping on the ear” photo. That was 12 1/2 years ago. And believe it or not, he was a grump back then! Maybe those pesky ears had something to do with it. Our boy is doing good. I’ll keep you updated. We have pain killers and antibiotics to take for the next few weeks and a follow up visit with his vet.
I take exception to Jethro being labeled a “grump”. I think Jethro is misunderstood. Jethro is just very very very particular and likes things a certain way (his way).
P.S. Jethro stay away from popcorn and carmel corn until your dental work heals.
Thanks for the well wishes. Kerry and Hannah, Jethro will get that hug tonight! I know he’ll appreciate it.
He is doing great even after just a few days! I can sure tell he’s felling better than he has in a very long time.
Glad he’s doing better Cindy. Did he have teeth removed, or just a cleaning?
Oh yes, he had 2 teeth in front and 2 teeth in back removed. Jethro has had a smell in his mouth for over a year. We got his teeth cleaned this past summer but the vet (who is no longer there) didn’t detect all of Jethro’s problems. A few months later the smell came back and I took him back and we’ve been battling infection ever since. Antibiotics weren’t helping and the only way to see in Jethro’s mouth is to put him under. So, under he went this past Monday and he got an under the gums scaling of his teeth and the vet said he has a very nasty infection. He’s on a different antibiotic now and hopefully the vet getting all those nasty teeth out and doing the deep cleaning along with the new antibiotics will clear him up. Thanks for asking Kerry.
My goodness! All that going on in his mouth is enough to make anyone grumpy. So glad this vet is taking good care of Jethro and hopefully this will make things better.
