I never remember August ever being so cool???
Howllo Fellow Basset Hound and Cool August Lovers…It has been so strange in bassethoundtown. For the past few nights it has been in the mid 50s and the days top out in the mid 70s. Very strange for August but we are not moaning about it at all! We are hitting the bridge, the purple people bridge!
I have blogged about this wonderful place for years. What a wonderful way to spend a cool August day.
Here we are getting ready to cross over into OH. There is a huge park at the foot of the bridge and they were setting up for Party in the Park. It happens every Wednesday night during the summer.
Off to the other side is another huge area that has music festivals and a walking loop that follows the river. This is the entrance area.
Here we are in awe of this old roman dude named Cincinnatus, the name sake of Cincinnati.

Looks like you had a great walk today! Yes it has been incredibly cool for August in Kentucky. I love the cool weather and have not even turned the air conditioning on yet this year – not caving in now and we really don’t like it on anyway. It was great to save the extra $$$$. There have only been 3 days that the temp hit 90 this year- so very strange. Wonder what winter will bring??
I never remember such a cool August either. Last night it went down to 49 here. Highs have been in the 60’s to low 70’s. I here we are in for hot humid weather next week. We have our fair next week the weather this week would have been perfect for it. Ollie is enjoying this nice cool August. I really enjoy hearing about the parks in your area. Thanks for sharing your photos.
I agree, this has been a nice cool summer. I hate the humidity. There is so much to do around where you live. I envy you.
This has been the coolest summer we’ve had in a long time in southeastern PA–more like Maine weather! Not complaining, as you say, Cat;) Your outing sounds, and looks, like so much fun! Daisy Lynn is as barooooooooootiful as ever:)

Great history lesson! Well, unfortunately we are not blessed with cool August weather in Southeast Texas. Today it is in the 90’s and there is a heat warning and we are to stay inside if we can. If not, drink plenty of fluids. We did get a later start to summer this year as it didn’t really get hot until mid May. But after that, it’s been pretty miserable.
